I am just getting into paintball with a new gun.

I have decided to migrate forums because on another message board people did NOTHING but flames me and 90% of the moderators are corrupt money hungry idiots. After some wait I got my Spyder TL-R paintball gun from eBay today and I love it. As I get into paintball more, the more I realize how fun it is. Consider this like a "hello" thread.

So after many days of missed communication, the seller overnighted the package to me and WOW-O! What a gun this is, I am waiting to buy a new hopper and paintballs, so I have not fired it yet...

But here it is...tell me what you think...

EDIT: I read the rules before I posted, but I just have a question, this is the new paintballer forum branch, so why are we not allowed to ask "new paintballer" questions?

You really don't have to worry about online deals, if they have feedback.

Pretty hot looking for a spyder. Welcome to paintball. From this point on you will be perpetually low on cash and covered in strange looking bruises.

a very sexy spyder. I wish mine looked like that.

couple upgrades you'll wanna make before too very long"

1)new barrel(you'll soon see the sotck barrel is horribly inaccurate!) I ressomend getting a j&j or CP barrel both are cheap and accurate. dont' go but a high end expensive barrel. it's not worth it for a spyder.

2) a new feedneck(the part your hopper attatches to) get clamping one, preferrably a low-rise one so your hopper doesnt' stick up so far. the clamping feedneck makes sure your hopper stays on(the plastic ones cause the hopper to fall off occasionally= bad)

3) people are gonna tell you to get an electronic trigger, but that way i see it is that since you've already bought the marker there's not need selling it and getitng a spyder with an e-trigger.

don't buy an e-trigger they cost almost as much as a spyder with an e-trigger already on it.

Well, I am out of paintballs but I had two left in a bag and shot them off and it seemed very accurate from about 75ft...I am going to get more paintballs and a new hopper because those crap VL200's fit very loose on the neck, so should I get a new hopper or a new neck? I just had a 20oz CO2 filled last week, so I should be fine on that end...

I just have another question...hopefully without making another thread...is it bad to leave your gun pressurized?

So when you said that thing about the clamping feed necks, what do you mean specifically and where can I get one?

Lightbulb here ya go!

hmm for a starter player you are on the right track though dont keep your hopper .. get a different one maybe a VL revII that is good and is under 100... id also consider buying HPA (compressed air) for it... cuzz HPA has better efficiency and can be used in harsher conditions and such!... and maybe you could get a new feed neck... and i would get a new barrel system.. may i suggest the Freak system ....... hey and when you get better get a ION

Tip of the day: "Save money for paint here and there... so if you wanna ever go for quick game you have the money at hand!"

Nice gun. It looks pretty nice for a spyder, very shiney. Yeah I would get a new barrel because most lower end guns barrels suck. New hopper too, but welcome and enjoy.

Its nothign special.. Its a good gun for a beginner, but beginners normally dont shoot a case a day and dont need 15+bps markers.

Welcome to the community!
