Whats the difference between an expansion chamber and a regulator?

I have been looking for upgrades to my tippmann 98 custom and was wandering what the difference is between an expansion chamber and a regulator.

Do u use hpa or c02?...If c02 get an expansion chamber, if hpa get a reg. Expansion chamber give more room for c02 so it doesn't freeze on you and helps with less liquid c02. A reg is for hpa. The reg can handle the high pressures of hpa.

an expansion chamber catches the liquid co2 so it doesent go into your gun. A regulator does just what it says. It regulates the pressure going into the gun.

Its A B C.
A. Get compressed air tank.
B. Get new reg or expansion chamber.
