I'm looking to buy an inexpensive gun that I could use for speedball without being annihilated.

I'm pretty new to paintball, I went for the first time in May and fell in <3, then recently got some cash and want to buy a marker.

I'm looking to learn how to upgrade/replace parts on the marker I choose, also. I'm always interested in how things function and how to improve them.

Any links or suggestions would be appreciated.

And what gun should I get? I was thinking maybe a Dragun T1 or Mongoose. I've been looking around forums and it seems like many people have these guns upgraded and it looks basic enough.

I'm basically looking for a nice looking marker, that I can upgrade/learn to upgrade on and will be decent at speedball haha. Thanks.

First, pick a price range, so we can get specific in helpinh you.

Dont go with the spyder clones, thats always a mistake.

Its also a mistake to put a lot of money into a low-end gun.

Upgrades dont take skill to install, so that sint a problem.


As far as the gun for speedball goes... any gun will do. You dont need 20 bps to keep up. As they say, its the carpenter, not the tool.


If you have a price range, I can give you a specific recommendation, but right now I'd have to say the 98c is the best beginner gun you could ever hope for.

My price range is basically 0-150. I'm not really looking for a tippman. I'd like to get something that stands out from everyday tippmans n spyders, and hopefully can be made into a champ.

And I really wouldn't mind spending money upgrading my gun.

yeah, what Buffalo said. "stand out because of your skill not your gun" but i'd say spyder imagine. I mean anything in that price range that's worth buying is gonna be a spyder clone or a tippy. everything else is crap. I mean you could get a psychoballistics lightning or superbolt for around $90 their autocockers but from what i've heard not all that great.

I'd recommend you save up to like $240 and get a B2K4 with PDS.

ehh hmm witht thta price range there isint much exept spiders.... hmmm maybe an Icon E... thta is like 110 hmmm but for 190 you could get a silver bullet... i dont know if there is much other than the spyders.... in that price range... hmm id get the spyder rodeo! i used to have one and it rocked.. but it couldent keep up with me so i got an ION this year and a DMC... and for the record... my ION is better than my DMC the DMC isint that great people.. its like the DM3.. hmm not worth the price... i shoudl have got the timmey or a octane shocker!

yea the siler bullets arent that great, if i wear you just save up and get like an ion or a wrath or a bko, but dont just go and jump on the chance that you can get a imagine for 100 because then you will soon have to get a faster and better gun and you spent all your money on a spyer.

edit; but then again you might want to get one just cause you are a new player
