Hey...i'm new i've only played once but i'm playin again in like....8 days or somethin....i'm not quite ready to buy a gun yet (obviously) but i'd like (all) your opinion. i'm thinkin about getting either a spyder sonix, spyder x-tra, or a wgp sport triolgy, or my last ditch plan a view loader i don't really want a tippmann i know they're like bullet proof, near impossible to break and all that stuff but i don't like them (very much) just tell me what u think i should get. I DON'T WANNA HEAR like a karnivor, ion, angel, dye, or any of that million dollar crap i'm lookin for a kit (with mask, tank, hopper, and squeegee) for under $200, and i know you can get that.....................................if u respond, thanks

"dye" is a company, not a gun

here are my recomendations:

dont get a kit...the mask's in kit's usually arent that good, a quaility mask is extremely important in paintball. Go to your local store and try some on see what you like

Spyder Imagine marker...hovering in the low-$100 area i think...a c02 tank (size is your decision)

for the hopper, It seems with your $200 budget it would not be easy to fit in a electric hopper. For a marker like the imagine it would be well worth the money over a gravity hopper but that is your decision

i would suggest agianst getting a kit because, like buffalo said, the masks usaully included are pretty bad. Instead with $200 i would get:
-Spyder Imagine: $115
-Proto Switch Mask: $25
-Pure Energy 20oz CO2 Tank: $20
-ViewLoader Revolution w/ x-board: $25

Total: $185

to answear the question about why it was called an autococker:

waay back in the early 90's all the paintball workd knew was pump guns. after each shot you had to cock it. people were happy and all was well. until one day WGP(i think?) created a new style of gun that didn't need to pump after each shot. they called it...the autococker. However now, autocockers are getting to be a little slow compared to other high end guns. they require much more mantience and know-how in order to keep them running smoothly.

I agree with the post up above, you'd be better off not getting a kit. Although you could get a kit and then replace the mask. I sold my kit mask for like 10$ and the bought a 70$ JT. I like it and it's a comfortable fit. The other stuff that comes in a kit you can probably keep like the barrel plug, Co2 tank of corse and a squeegee. You probab;y would want to get a new hopper too. Overall though I am pretty sure that Spyder makes an alright kit. I'd go for that!

Listen to me, I've helped many many MANY new players get into the sport.

Pick the PMI PIranha of your choice (depending on price. Cheaper ones are worse, more expensive ones are better. You get what you pay for).

Any piranha will be good for a beginner

Like stated, spend a lot for a mask. It will be worth it. Dye invision, or Vforce profiler. Those two will NEVER fog on you.

If you get a cheap mask, it WILL fog, it WILL be uncomfortable, and it will HINDER your gameplay.

12 or 20 ounce CO2 will work nicely.

The stock hopper will work, or you can get an electronic one. Viewloader Revolution or Empire Reloader 2.

I just bought new gear, and I'm actually looking to sell my old gear (a Spyder, JT mask, a electronic hopper, Pure energy 20oz CO2 etc) in good condition. It's not new but damn near close. PM me for more info.

i say get em seperate.....get refurbished/remanufactured one from pbg for $65. then check ebay for a v-force armor or vantage mask for like $20-$30, i have a v-force armor and it doesn't fog up on me at all and never has(had it for over a year). also look for tanks cuz u can get em cheap on ebay or let me know and i will sell u a few of mine cheap cuz i dont use c02 no more.

i just bought a spyder xtra, they are really nice and worth the price. The imagine is a nice one to, go 4 1 of those, and yea, dont get a set you may as well buy everything seperate!!!

The stuff that comes in sets is usually crap. The trilogy is the crappiest autococker out. You could buy a package. I suggest the imagine.
