Looking For a Good Site For P.B. Stuff
Hi guys, I'm new to this forum, as well as the sport of paintball. I've been to many forums so I'm sure I can navigate my way around and I won't bore you with obvious site questions.
Ok, first off, I'm new to paintball, and so far I've only used crap guns. My friend who recently gave up paintball let me have a Brass Eagle of his. I used it for about 3 days worth of paintballing before the thing broke. I decided not to fix it, since I realized the thing wasn't worth the money since that money could go to a better gun. This is where I need your guys help.
I've only been able to browse a few sites, but I'm sure that there are numerous other sites that are cheap. I was particularly interested in a thing on Action Village called the Refurbished Spyder Xtra Package for $100. It includes:
- A Spyder Xtra '04 Marker
- A 12' Barrel
- An Extreme Rage 190 ct. Hopper with a 9 bps feed rate
- Goggles
Is this a good deal?
I was told that the barrel sucked, so I wanted to get the Smart Parts 14" Spyder Progressive Barrel for $30. Is this barrel good, or is the standard barrel with the gun good?
After that I'll need some paint, and I heard that the Xball Bronze ($37), Xball Silver ($42), and the Xball Gold ($45) were all good, as well as PMI balls, but those were more expensive, and I want to stick to the cheaper stuff. Which of these is the best buy?
Any help is greatly appreciated, and I hope to be back on the field soon.

If you only have 130 to spend, then that will suffice. But if you have more there are better options.

village is so sweet dude. When ever i order from them i know with in 3 to 4 days it's at my house.
Try for a refurbished imagine instead. Better gun and saves u money in the long run. This is b/c after a while u'll realise, u want the speed of a e-frame and that's a $100 upgrade. But it's stock on the imagine, which is only a couple $$ more.

The package you are talking about is fine for beginners and I would just stick with the stock barrel for now until you get better because it is ok. I would on the other hand buy a new pair of goggles because the kit goggles can't be trusted. They fog up and are weak. Everything else sounds fine. I use monster ball because it is really cheap at my local PB store. Whatever you like though.

What mask do you suggest? How much would I expect to spend on a reliable mask?

$40 at least. Flex 7, invision, profiler are all great.

lol the best place to buy is on these boards if you dont mind buyin used...
I would recomend gettin a imagine over a mech spyder.. Look at some of these prices on the boards (you can also check ebay for some good deals sometimes)
Approx. prices you can probably get better if you look long enough...
spyder imagine $75 - 90
Switch, invision, profiler, flex 7 -$ 25 - 50 (25 for switch 45-50 for invision)
12 - 20 oz co2 $ 15
Then optional think about:
Paintballs $40 for a case of 2000 for some decent balls (cheper if you want some practice stuff)
revy (electronic hopper) - $ 20-25
gun cleaning (oil, squegee etc.) - $5-8
Then if you still wanna spend cash look for a new barrel (j&j ceramics are good and cheap)
that should abotu do it...
(just so no one else says it)
playing paintball with friends - priceless

The package comes with a 20 oz. CO2 tank, I'm sure that all I'll need for now.

Yeah, I haven't heard good things about the pilot, plus it's more expensive than the Xtra and Imagine
