look, im not insanely good, but im okay, and some games can last a loong time while still taking people out. i was told by a kid at school that in tournaents they turn the velocity up to like 400. is this true? also my friend who want me on their team want me to do all these tests, including running 100 feet without a shirt and being shot at, and running 100 feet with 3 targets on each side, and hitting all of them with 7 balls in my hopper( obviously getting 1 miss) and getting to the other side in 30secs. is this normal or are they asking too much?

i need help starting out, how to get practice paint, maybe getting sponsored and having a field to practice at.

im not anywhere near rich and i need money.

Pssshhhh... LMFAO 400? and no its more like 280 you could get hurt bad if it was 400 and for the second question well it depends are they just beginners too? If you have land some where like my grandpa does then pball there. For practice paint go to walmart 17$ candian for 500 its good... sponsored... from what I heard you could play at your local field alot and mabye they will do it for you...

Whoever told you tournies shoot 400 is a moron, and you can tell him i said that. the 100 foot running test seems totally asinine and i do not see how it would help more than just running normal drills. the seven ball 3 target drill seems a little unrealistic, and i wouldn't be suprised if they couldnt do it consistently either.

If the people want u on their team so bad u shouldn't have to do all that crap...And what if ur a back man why would u need to be able to run so fast. If there gonna test u they should test u in an actual game. Also no they DO NOT turn the velocity up to 400. You have to chrono 3 balls at 300fps or less. There is already a sticky about getting sponsered too.

thats what i told the moron, the no shirt thing is more to show that u have guts, and i still think it should be for fun instead, and the last test is actually six targets, three on the left, three on the right, and you have to hit them while running, they said there were more, they are the best friends i have dont get me wrong, but i dont want to be on a pb team with them, they are kinda stupid. but they're the only paintballers i know how can i join another team? i love knowing how my teammates play because if i do, i play better because we can make strategies before hand instead of being at a field with people u dont know, telling them which bunker ur gonna go to, then watching as an 8 year old on your team shoots .5 balls per second and calls himself out after his bunker gets hit once...i need a team but my options are limited

tell them to have a team practice day and they can invite u to come to it.....the tests are retarded and they don't help u in paintball at all......u don't shoot targets with one shot in paintball either ( u bonus ball them 10 times ) if the guy who told u that tournaments shoot 400 fps is on that team i wouldn't join it.....to get sponsored u should enter and place in a few tournies.......b4 i got sponsored we had won 3 tournaments....just practice and don't do those dumb ass drills

Instead of wasting your time with them and their tests why not try to find a better team. If they don't even understand the concepts of trying out a person with things that are actually relevant in paintball and have practical drills then they will not be very sucessful and you will not learn much or move up in skills easily. Let them do their stupid drills/tests and get on an actual team that has some common sense and mow 'em down.

ask them to do the tests first. if they cant do them on the first try, tell them they sucks and youre either:

1. on the team without doing the tests
2. off the team

besides, if theyre making you do all that, they probablly dont want you on the team really badly...

they are kinda weird about it, ther're acting neutral about if they want me or dont, im their friend so they would prefere me, but they say stuff like we believe your stories, butyou still have to do the tests, and they dont.
