hand down spyder imagine.
fishys are good but the imagine is more respected
any other spyder is a waste of money because theyr'e all the same internals just different millings.

for a starting gun, an imagine is the best way to go. its fast, easy to maintain, and its pretty reliable

Pirhana = absolute crap
The Imagine is the way to go. My friend has one and loves it even for just going to play maybe once a month

The Wrath and Ion are in a different class than the Imagine. They are electro-pneumatic, whereas the Imagine is electro-mechanical. Even after you start doing reasonable upgrades the Imagine, it won't equal the Wrath or Ion by the time you get to the price point of having bought the Wrath or Ion from the beginning. Some out of the box features you get with these two are:
- electro-pneumatic...not blowback operated
- break-beam eyes
- better trigger
- low pressure system
- regulator
My kid has an Ion; they are good markers. It looks like the Wrath has a better feed neck than the Ion...the one on the Ion needs to be replaced ASAP in my opinion. A lot of people have Ions, so if you want to be different then the Wrath will get you that.
When you say you can afford the Wrath, keep in mind that you should budget for HPA and a decent hopper with any elecro-pneumatic marker.
If this is your first marker, then going with an Imagine keeps more money in your pocket now in case you decide a little bit later that paintball isn't the thing for you. If you already have a marker and/or you know you are definitely "in" to paintball, then the Wrath or Ion with HPA will be a big jump forward if you can afford it.
