I've been playing paintball for sometime but I've never owned my own equipment. About half the time I play woodsball and the other half I play speedball, and I'm looking to purchase my own equipment. I've been doing some research and I think I've found a gun that I like but I jus wanted to get opinions on it. I'm looking at the Ariakon Sim-5, but I'm not too sure how well it would be in a speedball match. Or would something like Kingman Spyder Electra with Eyes be better for a first gun, or maybe even a Ion? Thanks for the help!

i'de have to say the the Ariakon Sim-5 is very much more of a woodsball gun, definatly not for speedball, go with the Ion.

Does the imagine have a chrono trigger and a two-part bolt mechanism? I don't think so...

pump action
I learned from PickyGuide.com that pump action guides are more accurate than semi-automatic guns. Thinkiong of getting that as my firts purchase, what do you think? This is the link where i read it: Guide to Paintball Guns - PickyGuide.com

Pump is not more accurate than a semi, all paintball guns are just as accurate as others. Its a little round ball leaving a tube at 300fps......welcome to physics.

I'm pretty new to paintball. I've played a couple times on speedball courses(and that's what I plan on doing for a while). I'm trying to decide on what marker to get(of course, you already knew that when you started reading this post). I've heard that the Spyder Xtra is a good starter one. I've read some good reviews on it, but none of them ever said if it was good for speedball. Would you guys say it's good for speedball, and are any of those in the first post better(or would you recommend them over the xtra. DONT LIKE TIPPMANS)?
I'm also trying to decide on a good starter mask. I've also heard that the Proto Switch EL is a good, cheap, starter mask(haven't heard much about how much it fogs, or cleans though). I also wear glasses, and the few times I have played, I played without them on. Do you think this mask would have enough room for my glasses to fit in?(if you don't think they do, please recommend a mask that is under $50 that might).

ummm... I'm considering purchasing my first marker, with a hopper, mask, everything...I've played a little speedball before...
Is the stuff I picked good, or should I pick other stuff?
What I picked:
Spyder Electra ACS w/ rocking trigger ( I love rocking triggers )
V-Force Pro Vantage Mask
PMI 72ci 3000 PSI Nitro Compressed Air Tank
Spyder FASTA Paintball 18v LED Loader
Draxxus Blitz Paintballs 2000 Rounds Crate
So how 'bout it? I haven't purchased anything yet, and I want an expert's opinion on the subject. I have a budget cap at $400, for all the stuff...
Thanks a lot,

If you plan on playing tournaments with that gun in the future, rocking triggers are illegal. Otherwise it looks good.

I thought only some tournaments had them as illegal. The trigger only fires one ball at each contact point, so wouldn't that make it legal unless it was specified?

thanks a lot, guys. Also, I need a good argument for my mom. She doesn't want me to even load a marker on our property. Problem is, how do I practice? I am wondering what a few good ideas are for convincing her to maybe let me use it against some plywood boards in the garage. Maybe I could put a mesh screen around where I practiced? Something like that, or a good reason to let me use it in the garage like "paintball guns cause less deaths each year than chainsaws" or something stupid like that... Thanks again. Oh, a useful fact. I have 3 younger siblings aged 10, 8, and 7... That's all for now, and I anticipate some good feedback. Bye!
