got a 98c, NOW WHAT?

Hey guys,
i just got a new 98C and i am totally psyched! I have a 14" Tippmann Werks barrel too. I have had it for a month or two, and have mostly used it for a speedball version of woodsball. My question: Is the RT and x-chamber worth it or should i cash out and get different gun?
tanks a ton

I wouldn't suggest upgrading your tippmann TOO much. A barrel will be fine and thats it. When you get better or want to get into local tournaments, then just buy a totally new and better gun.

i am starting to play with the idea of tournaments. What kind of gun can i get for a reasonable price? I don't mind selling the tippy. However, for practice purposes until then, i need to be able to use CO2. I don't know to much, but i have seen that some guns can run off CO2 or Nitrogen. would it be bad to flip flop back and forth?

You can't use co2 on any mid/highend gun without ruining it. Just keep your tippmann then untill money permits you to upgrade. It's bad to flipflop if you have a mid/highend gun, but not if you have a tippy/spyder/blowback/pmi/anything of that sort. Co2 is actually bad for anything.

Sorry, but should i get a good co2 gun or just upgrade my tippy? upgrading seems awfully expensive...a lot of guns come with expansion chambers already. And what trigs are tourney legal...

I'd like to add that i have a huge love of the game. I want to be able to practice whenever i want and play whenever i want, and it is SO much easier to get CO2 than nitrogen. I can afford an ion or B2K4, but i wouldn't be able to play whenever, unless Nitrogen gets 3,000 shots per fill and doesn't leak. So i guess that money does permit me to buy a better marker, but I LOVE PLAYING TOO MUCH TOO WAIT TO FILL N2!!!

Here's what you do:

Keep what you have for a little while.
Save up for a 68ci/4500 High Pressure HPA tank.
Use the tank on your Tippy.
Save up for a new gun such as an Ion.
Buy the ion and a good hopper (12volt revvy is good).
Have fun.

Don't buy too much stuff for your Tippy. I did that and really regret it.

So i can buy a HP tank right now and just hook it up to the 98 custom. When i upgrade the gun, i can use the SAME tank for nitrogen? Is that right?
BTW, i really like the wrath's looks, gonna compare the interior w/da ion

Yes, an HP tank will work fine with your tippmann.

Sweet.
I am thinking of getting a wrath with CO2 or a/s CO2. Apparently, it uses some of the same internals that allow the electro Spyders to run off raw (not a/s) CO2. Whaddya think?

You'll want a nitrogen tank no matter what. BTW... HPA, n2 and nitrogen... all the same thing.
Check here for all the things you can do to a Tippman. If you're just gonna play woodsball, it's really all the gun you need. IMHO.

I know, but it is very hard to consistently get N2/HPA tanks filled (thanks for the clarification). I have two very distinct questions, give them distinct answers PLEASE!
1) Is it fine to run the Wrath off normal CO2 and a/s CO2?
2) Do you know anyone who fills HPA other than pb fields? Does Dick's or Lowe's or Home Depot?

Also, i am not only gonna play woodsball. It is just the most convenient at the time. I plan on playing plenty of speedball.

Ok.
1) You don't want to run any electronic gun on co2 if possible. If you use anti syphon it's not as bad, but ya still wouldn't want to.
2) I have heard fire stations can fill nitrogen, any diver supply store should be able to.

yeah, i was just looking at that. I saw that scuba tanks are good to use for that, if i could find an inexpensive one, i would be set. Do you know how much fire/dive stores charge for a fill (per 1000 psi?)
