12V Hopper for Autococker Trilogy Pro?

Should i by an electric hopper, or a manual-feed hopper for this gun?

Depending on how fast your trigger finger is... But I would get the e-hopper.

That's what i figured. I'm going to go with the revvy. Any suggestions for setup/upgrade of this gun? Thanks for the replies.

well, i wouldn't get that gun if you dont have it already. if you do have it, pick up some kind of new barrel for it, and if you are using co2, anti-siphon your co2 tank. it'll make your pnuematics happy.

Yes, i already ordered the gun. I used one in the past, and i felt it to be rather comfortable for me personally. Not to say it doesn't have it's cons as well. I found it odd that you mentioned replacing the barrel, because from what i've read it has been said to have a rather decent stock barrel. Do you have any specific suggestions, instead just replacing it in general? I've already ordered a C02 tank, but i planned on anti-siphoning the tank once i have some more funds. Is that a fairly easy process. As if it's not obvious, i'm a newb so apprieciate your patience.
What in particular do you not like about this gun?
-thanks

People tend to not like Trilogies because it "isn't upgradable". Which isn't true at all. The only thing you can't replace is the 3way (which doesn't make too much of a difference.) You can now get a shaft kit so you can adjust where your gun actuates in the pull. Lprs and eblades require a bracket and some rams might require some shaving on the end to fit.

I would just keep your trilogy stock. And get an HPA tank in the future.

Thanks burningcow422, all i ever hear about these guns is people ragging on them, mainly for that reason. I thought it would be an overall good first gun. I know it's probably a little complicated for a novice, but i'm pretty mechanically inclined.

i am assuming that your a newer player. autocockers in general are not good new player guns because of the way they function, which is somewhat complex. just take time with it, look it over, and go to the autococker section of this forum to get some help on "timing" it, which you will need to do eventually and you'll be okay as long as you aren't stupid with it. one more con is that the gun isn't very upgradable, but thats not a problem for you since you are a beginner.

you cannot anti-siphon your co2 yourself unless your a trained airsmith. take it to a proshop and have them do it for you, people have killed themselves because they do not install the valve on the tank back on properly.

before you buy a new barrel, anti-siphon your tank. after you do that, pick up a decent electronic hopper like the 12volt revolution like you said in this thread. then you can buy a barrel such as a J and J ceramic or any smart parts barrel which are pretty good in general. after that, dont put another dime into the gun, it wont be worth it. if you really are hooked on paintball, buy another marker (we'll talk about this down the road). also, make sure you always buy quality paintballs such as pmi premiums or something. no kmart/walmart paint. if you MUST use crappy paint, use your stock barrel until you switch over to good paint that you will want to use with your better barrel. also, dont go over 14 inches on barrels. dont try to be a "sniper" with an 18 inch barrel, 18 inch barrels do not improve your accuracy, and everyone on the forum will back me up. you might hear people swear up and down that they do, but they dont. 14 inches is the perfect length.

oh, and buy yourself a decent THERMAL mask. not anti-fog, THERMAL.

I'm not on a budget in general. I have no plans whatsoever of buying cheap paint, and taking shortcuts to save money. This gun comes with a 14" barrel with .691 and .687 barrel backs . I was planning on using Evil paint. I just find a lot of different views on this site through reading the archives. Most people insist that instead of going out and buying a ton of gear and upgrades, the only thing that will help skill in the beginning is practice. For the time being, i'm kinda sticking to this philosophy. I have a Thermal mask on it's way as well. I don't have a lot of personal experience, but i've tried to read up on the archived forums to avoid stupid questions like the anti-siphoning question above.

evil paint is arguably the best paint money can buy, PERIOD. However, i would also take a look at PMI premiums, they are good also, not tourney grade like evil, but still pretty nice. just use the .691 back and you shouldn't have any problems. with the evil you should be able to use the .687 backs except for on hotter days or if the paint is swolen or something. .691 is the best route for either ball though. your accuracy wont be at its finest, but you probably wont experience any barrel breaks. your philosophy is perfect, however, (this shouldn't be the case with you) sometimes its hard to have fun paintballing (or in some cases even improve your skills) when your barrel wont allow you to hit the side of a barn at 10 yards, your mask is fogging, your gravity hopper isn't feeding fast enough so your chopping paint like crazy... just not fun.

heres what i would do:
get your gun, inspect it, see how the thing works. BEFORE you play, anti-siphon your tank and make sure that you have that 12Volt revvy before you actually play a game (you can test fire and stuff with a gravity feed, but dont fire too fast.) since that barrel comes with two backs and you dont buy crappy paint, you should be okay. pick up a jerk squeege too in the likely case of barrel breaks or chops.
then work on getting better. play paintball for a little while (if you live in a region where it is below 50 during the winter season) i suggest that you play paintball in the spring and summer before you decide that you hate paintball (winter games will do that to you, the shells on your paintballs get really thin, you chop, everything is a painted mess, your gun freezes because of the co2, it pretty much sucks). by the way, if you do live in one of thoes regions and want to play winter games, you can buy rps "polar ice" paintballs which have much thicker shells and are meant for colder weather (dont use them if its over 50 degrees, they're gonna hurt like crazy and bounce off everything) and i believe either draxxus or some other company makes another winter specific paintball.

Fortunately i live in Arizona so it's hot as hell 8-10 months out of the year. I really appriciate the comments on everything though. very informative. I'll still use the .691 back. I've read more than 30 reviews and almost all of them say the biggest advantage is it's accuracy. It could be biased, but at least it's some feedback. I will stick to your pre-shooting instructions.

Oh yeah as far as timing goes, this gun comes pre-timed from the factory now. Although i will have to adjust it if i uprgrade barrels...
Thanks again.

So today I called some local pro-shops in the area to see if they could anti-siphon my tank that i ordered, but no one did. In fact one guy told me "Just do it yourself, but make sure to put lock-tite on the threads." I told him that i heard it was really dangerous. He didn't have much to say after that. I'm wondering if i should just try to send it back and just get a HPA tank instead.

well make sure there are places to fill hpa

and try not to "double post". people kinda frown on that here at PBF and alot of other forums too. no big deal because your new, but use the edit button. the only time you dont have to worry about it is in b/s/t (buy sell trade) threads because people are constantly upping thier own thread to the top of the list.
