cleaning barrel?
Any recommendations? I was recommended one of those physco ballistics rubber squeeges and have been using that to clean my barrel, other people say use paper towels as sqeeges might scratch the barrel but other people say use squeeges as paper towels leave lint and so on. So what do you guys think?

I don't see how a rubber squeegee could scratch a barrel. Just make sure there's no dirt on it.

Like Dogpatch said,if there isnt any dirt on it,you should be fine.

Buy a 2$ barrel squegee or a battle swab. Don't use paper towels when there is a special tool(battle swab) for cleaning out a barrel. They are really cheap anywhere too.

or, how the hell would you get a paper towel all the way through a barrel and out the other side in a reasonable amount of time, and get results anywhere near a squeejee. jerk squeejees put a mirror finish back in my barrel after a break.

- use a swab during play.
- use the squeegie during a break.
- when you get home take the barrel off and use warm water to clean off all the trash stuck in the holes and crevises.

Paper towels are made of microfibers that scratch. That's the reason you are told not to use paper towles to clean your eye glasses, eyes on your marker or hopper, mask lense, or your barrel. Get a battle swab, the Redz ones are nice. The PMI ones break pretty easy.

Have you ever felt 2000 grit sand paper? Feel a paper towel and you will notice the abrasive nature. Also the squegee will pull the dirt with out pushing it into the wall of the barrel. The paper towel however will trap the dirt or debree and roll it under and push it up against the wall. One thing I have learned with a proper finish you dont want paper towels, they are good until there is a piece of dirt.

dont use a swab first use a straight shot first and then use the swab, if you use the swab first you will just push all of the crap back towards the ball and bolt

i use the swab first when i am in the middle of a game... it soaks up the sticky paint in the barrel and forces the broken shell back towards the bolt but on my next shot it blows it all out... in between games i clean it out better.
