You can blame it on maintance or what ever, the fact still remains, SPYDERS BREAK DOWN. So if I was you I wouldn't want to go to a paintball WAR with a spyder. I'd raither have my knock off that is a little more reliable.

the fact also remains - Piranhas break down too.
You can blame it on whatever the hell you want - but if a spyder is correctly taken care of you won't have problems. The same thing with a piranha.

Hey guys, i am in the same delimma (sp). I am also new and looking for a marker just like these. Should i go with the imagine digital LED or the Game Face Vexor Eye Paintball Gun - Silver / Black Glossy Fade (gotta love copy/paste lol) thanks for all of your help. I am looking for the best gun in this price range (like 100-140) and is somewhat upgradeable, like barrel, reg, drop forward ext. A good begginers gun, mainly for speedball and electric. Thanks

the Ion though is about $290
the Xtra is about $120 and can be upgraded easily
if you are into woodsball get the new Spyder MR1 it looks like a great gun its about $140

spyders and piranhas are about the same since they're blowbacks, but piranha has the best customer service in case something does go wrong.

I reccomend a Spyder Xtra or Tlx or Rodeo they are good entry level paintball markers and after 3 months of having it I have not had any problem except with some c02 leaking out because I had'nt changed my o-ring on the tank. And Spyders don't always break I was told that by several people. The reason they do break is because people don't take good care of them.

I would look online and get a good deal on a Piranha Evo. If I didn't already have an Ion and a Spyder Xtra I'd get one. Might if I have to give the Xtra back to it's real owner. Use the Evo as a backup. Mongoose II with eyes looks neat to. Seen them both on ebay for about the same price give or take a little.

Though I have seen spyders break down it was nothing even the owner playing for the first time couldnt fix themselves. I have owned an imgaine before too its a good so i would say get it .but if you are saying you want to put upgrades into your spyder dont its not worth it. Just save your money and get a better gun stock. otherwise only get an electric hopper and hpa tank for your spyder or fishy because those are the only things you can carry over to your next gun.

I am only here to tell of my friends experiences with both guns, not my own opinion.
Both Friend #1 and #2 started playing on the exact same day. They both upgraded to their own gun at about the same time. #1 bought the 05 Imagine while #2 bought a GTI. Neither play very much, maybe once every other month.
#1 has never had a problem with his gun besides the occasional bolt stick from lack of lube/chopped balls. He has been happy with it.
Now #2 on the other hand has hated his GTI since the day after he bought it, when his on/off button fell out/broke/who knows. He has still not been able to sell it for a year.

Go with the Piranha, a saver bet in my opionin.

So your reasoning is that becouse i call a paintball "game" a paintball "war" I know nothing about paintball??? That makes no sense. I can call it a war if I want to and you can call it a game if you want to.

^^ exactly, its really just preference at this point since they are both only entry markers.
