Need help choosing a my next marker!
I currently have a VL Genesis Surge and It's not accurate at all. I do plan on getting a better barrel for it but I am also going to get another marker for Christmas. Do you guys have any ideas. I heard the ION is nice but I don't personally like the looks of it. My price range is $250ish. I don't play too often but my church is going to begin playing more since we first went yesterday and it was awesome. (the last time I went was a year ago with friends). Also what barrels fit on my marker? I heard it's the Spyder barrels. Thanks.

Sorry I can't help you to much, but if you plan on getting a new marker for Christmas, do waste your money on buying a new barrel for your old marker, because chances are you're going to want to buy a new barrel for your new marker.

Ion will be out of your price range if it is $250.......

Ok... I belive the surge is spyder threaded..... i'm not entirly sure on that.
A tippmann 98 with an Response or and E-trigger is about $180 also. Thats really good gun for woodsball and with the trigger upgrade it'll do just fine in speed ball. With a nice $50 hopper on top of that you have a $230 set up and your able to play on both.
If you don't play to often then what is wrong with your Surge? Its a pretty good marker, i've gotten shot by a few before. You could just keep that... But then again it is only semi-auto so yea, the 98c with a trigger upgrade dosn't sound like a bad idea for you.

are you looking for a brand new gun or a used gun? if you want a new one i would go with a tippman considering how indestuctable they are and an upped 98c with a response will do fine for a rec baller. Used you could find a good electro spyder or a mech cocker on ebay for 100 - 150

go with a spyder or piranha they are good enough if your not going to play that often, save your money and don't buy a high end marker untill you get a little more serious

Well, first off 250$ is not enough for the ion itself, let alone a hopper that can keep up with it, and a nice tank. So that pretty much rules that out. I'm going to go with cocker kid on this one. An imagine is always a great choice for beginners, as it will work just fine in the woods and has capability for speedball. 13bps, and of course some modes that you can have fun with, but not use much in real games.

BBBBBBBZZZZZZZZ! Wrong-o everyone. He can't run a ion, b2k, or a bko b/c he doesn't own a hpa tank.
The 98c is easily the worst buy in my opinion. Especially once you get R/T or e-trigger it costs almost 2x that of a spyder imagine 05. Which is the best gun for the price. It's electric (so it has some speed), has proven itself to be reliable and isn't super long like a 98c.
So buy youself a spyder imagine 05. Get a new barrel (example; cp 1 piece 14") a reloader II or 12volt revolution so that you won't chop. Then if you still want to buy upgrades (instead of buying paint, the worlds best use of pb money) you could get a new feedneck. B/c the stock plastic neck WILL break on you and for the $10 they want for a new one a $30 metal feedneck no longer looks so expensive.
