ok so my girl friend has a 8 yearold son and he is fascinated with my paintball guns and stuff and he wants to get into it now he is 8 so he asks me if it hurts when you get hit and i told him yes but he still wants to get into it so i was thinking before we go out and spent some money on some gear and stuff i would take him out and shoot him once of twice to see if he can take the hits. i dont want to buy him a gun and stuff and then the first time he gets hit he throws the gun down and crys and never wants to play again..... that would suck but anyways i just started paintball like a year ago and have 2 A-5's both with mods and i have never been to a place to play pball otherthan out in the desert with some friends so im not sure if he would later want to get into going to the arenas or whatever you call them so i was thinking of getting him the following

tippmann 98 custom
or
spyder imagine

what one would you get for him? trying to stay low in price and i already have a few co2 tanks

Nice, get him a nice 98 custom. That way, it'd be close to an a-5 and you'd know some of the problems if anything goes wrong with it. Just remember, if you play at any fields, they might not let him play because of the age limit on some fields, which is usually 9-10.

ok thanks for the reply i will keep an eye out for a 98 custom for a good price trying to stay around $100.00 cause i still need to buy 2 mask's one for the ladie and her son

also i will need a hopper if i cant find a 98 that comes with one... should i just get the cheap gravity feed hopper or VL

i was gunna post a few pics but this forum has vry limited image hosting... 70 something k size so small.....

Before you shoot him you really need to get your marker chrono'd. If you and your friends are getting nasty whelps, you may be shooting hot. Since I started playing at a legit field and chrono'ing to around 280-290 I haven't had a really painful hit or any bad bruises. And put a baggy shirt on him.

yes thats a good idea. and for uploading a pic go to imageshack.us and then upload it. and then put [img] link [/ img] (but no spaces) and it should work

i was gunna have him put on a sweater and some jeans and a mask (obviously lol) and shoot him right in the knee cap j/k the chest probably from a good 20+ feet away since your supposed to surrender at like 10ft or something

also were would i go to get my gun chrono'd i know my velo is way high lol still figuring that one out i think its high because with my flatline im still breaking balls draxxus and dye proto balls and just seems like its high like it spits them out like BLAH!!!! SUPER LOAD LOL fun fun

that reminds me when i first got my A-5 i went behind a store to shoot it a few times and it was way load and sounded lie a machine gun and was echoing in the houses next to the store and he see/hear people come out of the house and say hurry get back inside HAHAH then as we left and pulled out of the store parking lot a cop rolled in and passed us lol so funny familly thought i was shooting a machine gun good laughs

Don't shoot him when he's not playing, it will hurt worse because he will be nervous and expecting it. Hits barely phase me when I'm actually playing.

I think he was hinting at the lack of punctuation in your post, but it wasn't really necessary.

You can get a handheld chronograph for around 80 dollars new. They are kind of expensive but very useful. You just use it to measure your velocity and set it. Most fields are usually around 280FPS.

my friends neighbor is 8 years old and he loves to come out to the field with us. he always begs and begs and begs to play withus, be we dont wanna hurt him, so we turn our velocities down and let him play a few games, he gets a kick out of it.

but this kid is unusually tough, so idk. make sure you dont get your gf pissed off if he gets bonus balled or has big bruises or something.

...he lives in Arizona. A winter jacket may keep the paintballs from stinging him, but he might die from a heat stroke.
