It comes down to the player but there is a point where a gun could hold back a player.

Pretty much learn how to play until your gun doens't keep up.

you gotta have the skill to handle the gun. so it's mostly player until it comes time when your gun just doesn't fire fast enough like being a back player or something

i'd say in just about any situation it's 90% player.

The gun only helps in rof battles (blocking lanes, or accuracy by volume-especially in snap shooting) and very precise shots with accuracy. Some guns are able to put the ball there just a little better.

I used to think it was about 70% player. Then I saw a kickass speedballer toting a BE talon go up against a kid with a DM4 and Ion just for kicks, and he owned them both. That along with numerous other examples, has brought me to believe it is not 70%, but 90% player (the rest is 1% luck, and 9% equipment).

I don't think they make guns that fire themselves yet.

It boils down to "You can not make a craftsman with just the tools."

In other words, there has to be a skill base when you play -- the marker is just an extension of that skill base.

I bet that if you gave Ollie Lang a spyder, he would still roll you even if you had the DM56foShizzle Uber Marker....

Think of it this way: Would you rather be the greatest player in the world and use an Imagine? Or would you rather be the slowest running, shooting, no snap firing guy with a DM6? Exactly.

90% player, 10% equipment.

85% player, 15% gun, because the gun will have an effect on you once you out-skill it.
