i am going to play at the feild tommorow. last time, whch was the first time ive played with ppl at a feild everyone had like a tippman, and i was fine with getttting hit by them. but my quetion is is there a big difference between getting hit with say a tippman, and getting hit with say an ion.

The only difference between the 2 is how many times you might get shot. Each time you get hit won't hurt more...but since you might get shot more, it might sting a little more. It's not bad though. Instead of getting hit once or twice...you might get hit 5 times...or 10 if you are playing against really trigger happy people, but it's not that bad.
Just don't worry about it. When you worry about getting shot, it will probably hurt more and you won't be playing to your full potential because you are only concentrating on not getting hit...which could lead to getting hit more.

good advice, i was going to say the same thing. it might actually hurt less and here's my logic on that--a tippmann person has a tippmann because they are usually rec players who go once in a while, and dont want to spend a lot of money, so they might also buy cheap paint, like from walmart, which hurts more when you get shot (if the field is BYOP) whereas someone with an ion is more serious about balling and will probably buy good paint from the field.

like they said.. there really is no difference between the two in getting hit... they both have to be shooting around the same FPS, and so the only thing that will change the amount of pain when you get hit is what was mentioned before, quality of the paint used in each gun.

I've found that when getting hit multiple times I really only feel maybe the first hit.. Then the other ones I dont feel.

Exactly, the only difference is the amount of times you might get hit. Angels don't hurt worse than Spyders, or any marker any worse than another. It's all FPS and crappy paint.

^^umm ok. dont you guys think getting hit ten times in a rec game round of play, is a little extreme?
what i mean is, it is possible to get hit 10 times in a round. but in your entire day of play this should only happen once, maybe twice. otherwise you are playing against people better then you and getting owned

Not really. When you are playing people who are all shooting well over 10bps, it's not that hard to shoot somebody an extra 9 times. Not everybody plays people with spyders and tippmanns all shooting 5bps. Whenever I get shot out, just walking off the field I usually get hit at least another 5 times...and that's with my hand up and just walking off normally.
Just think of it this way...if somebody has their gun set to PSP ramping capped at 15bps...they shoot you once, but there is most likely more paintballs coming your way. In less than a second...you're hit 10 more times. Doesn't mean that you are getting owned...just means that you are playing people that aren't shooting slow or that are just flat out bonus balling you. It's not like you can stop the paintballs that were shot after the shot that hit somebody...so they are either going to miss him, or hit him.
Last year, one of my friends came up to me during a game and said "thanks for bonus balling me"...i only saw one break and went back into my bunker because he was shooting at me. I hit him 8 times total...even though I only saw 1 break.
