Tippmann starter guns?
Hello helpful people. I have been playing paintball for a while and I am going to purchase my own gun/marker. I did not get a gun earlier because of the ghastly shipping costs overseas. (No good guns here). I have been tossing up between the A-5 the 98Custom Pro. I want long range, accuracey and reliability. Price doesn't matter. Could you suggest some upgrades?
Thanx
SHP

98 Custom for sure. Not only is it lighter/less bulky, but it is basically the same thing for less money, and you don't have to deal with the stupid cyclone feed.
Tippmanns are the most reliable guns out there.

No. Get a Custom Products 1-Piece or a J&J Ceramic.
Also, a 98 is a good choice because if you decide you want the cyclone feed, you can buy it and put it on a 98.

Yes definitely get the 98c. As for the barrel, dont get the flatline. Find a nice CP barrel or possibly the j&j.

Tippmanns are good beginner guns. Spyder Imagines are also very good guns. They are good for beginner and intermediate players. Just a suggestion

Aha. In that case, Lapco barrels are excellent. That would be a good choice.

My friend, his 13 yo son and I are just getting into it. We all bought our guns on the same day. I got the A-5, he got the 98 custom pro, and his kid got the Spyder.
I plan to get a barrel first thing, but I bought the A-5 because I'm mostly into mil-sims and I liked the cyclone feeder. It seems to be the best Mil-sim upgradable gun IMO. I just liked it better than the permanent handle on the 98. I will definitely be getting a Spyder for my second type of gun but it seems too pretty and shiny for woodsball whereas the A-5 has been pretty rugged.
Not much help from a newb, good luck.

I think the tippmann 98 is the best starting gun out there. I suggest getting a flatline if your going to play a lot of woods ball.

Consider the Custom Pro instead of the 98. It's a small step up and you can upgrade to an e-trigger later. Can't do that to a 98 until Tippmann comes out with the new frames that accept the e-trigger (later this year).

Get a custom pro. Because if you feel like playing a little speedball no problem but if you want to play woodsball for the day it works great bloth ways especially with an eframe. You also will like the doudble trigger.
P.S. NO FLATLINE!!!!!
