Which Gun?
I am looking to start getting into paintball after an awesome trip last weekend! I will mostly be playing speedball, some scenario every once in a while. I was looking to spend about 200-300$ on the gun not including hopper and air source. I was thinking as of now an Smartparts Ion or a WGP autococker prostock... Anyone else have any suggestions?

I would go with an Ion.

Ion. The cocker might be a bit over your head in the mantinence department and the complexity of how it works.

I'd say go with a Spyder Imagine. It's cheap, easy to maintain, and is very durable. The ion is a little harder to keep up because it's more of a mid-end gun then the Spyder. But since this is your first gun, then I'd go with the Spyder so you can get acquainted with the internals of paintball guns.

An odyessy RPM would be your best bet for getting an entire set up for $200. An Ion it's self is more expensive then that.

There is a reason everyone has an Ion.. The RPM does have nice features. Wish they would have put some kinda fore grip on it though.

You made it sound like this was your first gun, and if, for a first gun, you want an ion, then go right ahead. But I was just giving my opinion that you should start off with a low end gun because it requires less maintenance and you'll be able to save up the money that you would've spent on an ion, and buy a high end gun that's better then the ion.

QFT.
An Ion is a better beginner gun, rather than the cocker.
Or Spyder Imagine.
