Pmi Evo
hey guys, just got my new gun, the PMI EVO, and i have a few questions. first thanks to everyone who gave me advice about what to buy. anyway i havent shot it with paint and air yet, but just dry firing it i notice that after a while the adjusting screw on the bottom of the regulator keeps unscrewing itself. im not really sure why, can anyone help? also how do i adjust the regulator and why would i do so?
also HUGE NOOB QUESTION: what exactly does the bolt do while the gun is firing? if it is air pushing the paintball out, what is the bolt doing?

It's not gonna hurt to dry fire it.
Okay, here's the break down. After the gun is cocked, you pull the trigger, the sear releases the hammer. The hammer and bolt move forward, the hammer hits the valve pin and releases air into the gun. The air goes through the valve and up into a hole in the bottom of the bolt. This air propels the ball and pushes the bolt back. The hammer catches on the sear and you're ready to repeat.
About the reg, I dunno.

The regulator will not unscrew if you air up the gun. The pressure will hold it in place. As for the bolt, read what dogpatch wrote.

Call PMI tech support if the reg doesn't work correctly or has issues. And read the manual. LOL!

velocity is in the back of the gun, underneath the bolt pull. screw 79 is labeled "Adjusting Screw" in the manual so i assume it adjusts the regulator, as thats what its nearest. so now i have the question of how exactly do i adjust the regulator? i assume it goes like this: (please correct me)
1) pull bolt back and screw on gas canister
2) look at the guage on the regulator and adjust the screw at the bottom until it reads my target PSI (300-400)

The screw on the bottom of the regulator adjusts the the psi. Technically you could adjust the velocity here since the psi will affect that. Now, the manual says to adjust the psi to around 300. So do that, and then adjust the velocity at the rear of the gun with the velocity adjust screw, Once pressurized, the psi adjust screw should remain tight.
