barrel inserts are for barrel kits. as far as i know, the freak uses inserts, and i don't know about the rest except that some use different backs, others use inserts. go for a kit, that way you get all the inserts. when you buy a case of paint, you can size it to a certain insert, and use that for the case. a good match provides better accuracy.

if you get a barrel that can use inserts, i'd suggest getting an entire barrel kit, that way you have all the options for barrel sizes open to you and you wont have a problem with an over or undersized insert just because it's the only one you have.

Freak kit is like 2 peices, the back and the front. the barrel insert goes into the back.
the freak kit ocomes with like 7 inserts
when you get a case of paint, on the box will have a number which is like the size of the paintball.
freak comes with
.682
.684
.687
.689
.691
.693
.695
to tell which one you need, you can either match the numbers or put a paintball thru and when it barly catches and you can easily blow it out thats the one u should use.

some places require you to use their inhouse paint so you can match it up and get the best accuracy and performance out of your barrle kit.

the kits like 100-150 and its well worth it.

they also sell individual inserts if you play at a certain spot more often or if one of them gets messed up.
there not like super fragile but if droped hard enough or banged up enuf it can dent easily.

hope that clears a lil up
