I was wondering if its alright to keep the co2 bottle screwed into the gun when not in use?

I wouldnt, my owner's manual discourages it b/c the gun could discharge and it also puts constant strain against all your internals, you dont wanna blow a tube.

i wouldnt do it also considering that temps change, and i dont know how much that effects the air in the tank but constantly compressing and uncompressing the pressure source on something can only wear it out.

yup, i did it for a couple of days and wound up with two bad o rings, all of them needed replaced really early.
