If they bought it new, its an xtra... If its used, its probably a tlx body and an xtra frame.

it was new, got it almost a year ago tho but why doesn't it look like an extra then? and will most of the upgrade parts still work for it?

Actually... It is a TLX. I don't know why it says xtra on the frame. All spyder upgrades are compatible.

Nah,dont listen to the guy that said it was a TLX with a Xtra frame, when i bought my Xtra brand new it looked the same way, it does have the body of a TLX, but it is an xtra, whoever bought it for you probably got it from walmart

Actually the new extras have a beaver tail on the back but look the exact same as a tlx bodie wise. Go to walmart and look.

Its the new Xtra. They put the TLX bodies on all Xtras now, im not sure why though.

plus all spyders are basically the same so it doesnt matter much
