Mr2 Barrels?

heres the deal, I have an Kingman Mr2 and was wondering if it is a wise choice to upgrade the barrel to Opsgear M82A1 18" barrel. The M82A1 18" barrel states that it allows for 150 feet of range. If not please to recomend barrel type and size for optimal range and accuracy for less than 50 bucks if possible. Also please to tell me the pros and cons of having a longer barrel vs that of a shorter barrel. I hear talk from shop people that longer barrels have less accuracy and no range increase. In the field ive seen people with barrels 18" or higher and they seem to be dishing the pain out. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thankyou!

There are no bnefits of having a long barrel. They do not increase range, and what the folks at the store are telling you is correct. The barrel itself makes no impact on accuracy, only the paint to barrel match. You will negativley impact your gun by putting a long barrel on, its been proven. No barrel magicaly will make a ball fly farther, there all following a flat trajectory at 270 fps, the tube cant make it go farther or shorter.

I sounds like there"dishing out the pain" by shooting hotter than there supposed to be. You gun is only going to shoot one distance.....welcome to paintball.

Buy yourself a used kit, its the best way to go for the money.

unless it creates plenty of backspin like the flatline barrel, then it won't increase distance, it's been proven that paintballs will fly at maximum 120 feet without the flatline

anything longer than 14" is useless. It wastes air because it takes more air to push the ball out of the barrell and it does not increase accuracy or range. the paint is going to go the same distance no matter how long your barrel is. and it looks stupid.

the two choices are basically between 12 and 14'' 12 for manuverability, 14 for accuracy. both are fairly similar. im not sure its worth getting a new barrel for a spyder, as you may buy a different gun later, but if you plan on sticking with that one for a while try a j&j ceramic. ive never used one but i hear good things for the price (around $40 new)

you might also consider a used freak kit. You could start with on insert and build from there. It would then be transferable to a next gun with only the purchase of a back instead of the whole kit. Freaks are not the best, but are one of the only "universal" kits, as it require only a fourty dollar purchase with a new gun instead of a whole kit.

Notta problem, thats what this section is here for.

To many people make the bad mistake of getting tied up with useless upgrades, and the PB companies are just encouraging it.
