Barrel, Oil, and Water Proofing

Hey all. I have played paintball a couple times this summer and really enjoy it. I was borrowing there guns. I want to get into it more so I decided to pickup my own gun. My buddy owed me a favor so he sold me a mask, a 9oz Co2, hopper, and his old Sypder Imagine for $100. The gun is basically new though since he said hes shot basically only one hopper full out of it. I have a couple questions with it

1. How often do I need to oil it? After every use?

2. He said the barrel on it isnt quite that good. Anyone else with the stock Imagine think the same?

3. The electronic trigger system is not waterproof. When I put the battery in it leaves the casing open a bit. Is there any mod or anything I can do to it to waterproof it?

Thanks,
RWF

1. i'd say after every good days worth of paintball that way it's running top notch by the next time.

2. stock barrels are almost never good, you can pick one up later, i don't suggest getting a kit unless you plan on staying with teh gun for a while

3. you can't really waterproof it, you can try different things like people that like to play in the rain either duct tape their grips use things like garbage bags but other than that theres nothing you can really do

1. Everytime after you play would be nice, just wipe off any left over oil and add just enough for it to slippery again but not to much so thiers oil clogs.

2. The stock barrel is horrible, but as sumsimple said unless you plan on staying with it dont do a kit. Do some research and find the most accurate single peice barrel for the imagine, pbreview.com should tell you which ones highest rated

3.The only thing i can think of if your going ot be playing in the rain just ductape it and then take it off later, electrical tape would probably work too or pretty much any tape better then scott's tape or whatever its called

I disagree on the kit. By something like a freak that will only require a mionimum invetment to change to a new gun. The freak is not the best, but it will give you a kit AND be easily adaptable to your next gun.

Ok I was at my friends the other day playing with my new gun. I noticed that I am getting a lot of left and right curve on the balls. I know paintballs are going to curve but it seems like mine are really excessive. Maybe 1 in 5 would go anywhere near where I was aiming. I know the Imagines stock barrel isnt quite that good but reading around Im under the impression that a regulator could possibly help. Am I wrong in thinking this? Sorry if this is a dumb question Im still trying to learn. I was trying not to shoot fast to test the gun and I matched the paint to what the barrel size was.

pick up a delrin bolt you won't ever have to oil it, if your going to be serious with paintball pick up some kinda of barrel kit. but if your just messing around pick up like a smartparts progressive or all american barrel. and you can custom mod it to make it waterproof...but prob won't work

I'ts your barrel. the stock imagine barrels really really suck

a regulator wont' help. your idea behind that is your'e heard too much pressure curves paintball corect? it could also be you're shooting in excess of 300 foot per second. to find out lover your velocity by turning the know on the back of the marker to the left a few times.(or go chrono your marker so you know for sure it's not over 300 feet per second) if they still curve and you're shooting under 300 FPS it's definately your barrel, bad paint or both.
