Evo?
I've rented equipment and played at my local feild about four times, and i decided i now want to buy my own marker. At first i was thinking of getting a spyder pilot but now im thinking maybe of an evo. i was also looking at the ion but i think it's a little too pricey for my first gun. Which is the better marker, the pilot or the evo? are there any other entry level gun suggestions? thanks.

there about the same in all honesty. There btoh generic STBB guns. There not bad, but my recommendation would be a used ion and HPA tank instead of forking out the cash for the spyder/pirhana, then tunring around a little down the road trying to get the ion. Its not going to resell worht a durn, and your going to be out more than starting with said ion.
You could also look into a wrath or BKO, any of the three are better than a spyder, but the ion is probably top dog there.
Look around, there are LOTS fo good deals to be had that will get you started with a gun that will alst you through the begginer phases onto the entry level tourny scene. DOnt be intimidated by the claims of"oh there so much more complicated". If you can read the sticky on maintenance in the SP forum, you can maintain one.

$179 for an evo is a terrible deal. i bought mine like 3 months ago brand new for like $120. the evo is a decent gun to start with, but when i got mine it didnt work at all. i ended up returning it and buying an ion, and i strongly suggest you save a little more and buy an ion. some people will tell you the are hard to maintain, but they really arent if you have any common sense (in fact i think they are actually easier to maintain than an evo).
if you were willing to fork out $179 for an evo why not $200 for an ion?
please do yourself a favor and save for a few more weeks and buy an ion and an HPA tank, you will be much more happy with it trust me.
edit: i just realized you lived in canada. its still a bad deal, the evo isnt really that good. still buy an ion.

Look at a Spyder Imagine. Pretty much the same thing as the evo, but cheaper. (Or it used to be )
Don't get an Ion. When you decided to get a good gun for tourneys and such, you will want to skip the entire "Ion phase."

maybe, but dont think you cant use ions in a tourney.
in the end its up to you (duh) so im not gonna aruge, but i would go with an ion if i were in your position, for like $80 more its definitely worth it.

$80 more, then another 200 for a nice tank, then another 100 for a nice hopper...
But like he said, its all up to you.

But, he should be able to get a used ion pacakge with tank and loader for sub 300$... Thats a much better deal than a pirahna with no tank etc. 120$ more and youll have a gun thats capable of keeping up with most high end markers ROF wise, versus a crappy STBB.
As a matter of fact, theres a brand new ion package on ebay with a 48/3k, a halo TSA,new trigger, QEV, Feedneck and a new ion for 319. There are some with eggs for 309. Tell me him spending 179 on a crappy spyder clone is better than getting a pack like that....

That sounds like such a good deal, but thats probably on ebay.com and im from canada. I dont know if they can even get the markers across the boarder but if they did it would be expensive for shipping, exchange rate, and duty fees lol. so i was looking for something in canada or somthing local

yeah but paintball markers have all different kinds of laws and going over borders just complicates things.
