I have an Xtra and now I want to upgrade to an electric marker. I am undecided between an Diablo Wrath LTD, Mongoose 2, or an ION PRO ? I have some what of a budget $300.00. What do you suggest?

Ion.

Wrath is just a semi-pneumatic. Ion is fully EP, has a good line of accesories etc.

There are brand new packs on ebay for around 320 shipped with everyhting you need, or buy it used and get it alot cheaper....

ion get a pack though because you are going to need an hpa tank and a good hopper

What makes the ION a better marker than the Diablo markers? If the ION shoots 12 to 17 shots per second out of the box, and the Diablo shoots 20. How is it better?

the ion board is capped at that, your not going to be able to shoot that.

The ion is a superior design capble of a consistant 25+ bps in full auto if the board were not capped. The diablo marker is an inferior design pneumatic assist blowback. I dont beleive it has any ramping modes, so your not going to hit the max ROF on either gun. With an uncapped board, the ion can shoot as fast or faster than the wrath.

Dont worry about what the max ROF out of the box is on most guns, your not going to shoot that fast without ramping anyway, its a sales gimmick. Worry about wich gun is a superior design.

I know that this is going to sound stupid but, what exactly is ramping. The Diablo Wrath LTD does have ramping. I am new to the sport and I don't have all of the lingo down yet.

ramping adds shots as you pull the trigger, giving you a higher ROF. Its only legal in some tournaments and fields.

The ion is still a better marker than the wrath, regardless of modes on the stock boards. better quality, better design, better upgrades. There alot like a cheaper version of the shocker, were as the wrath is a partialy pneumatic spyder.

Ok so i misspoke, I was in a hurry. It uses a ram to force the valve open, bolt forawrd and a spring to return it. The spring still causes more recoil versus the ion. No matter how you argue it, its not a fully pneumatic marker.

A Ion is a simpler gun. One reg vs two on most other guns. Two or three moving parts. Milling isn't as nice and neither is the finish. I like the way the gun functions. Simple to understand and work on. A Shocker now.. Lord please give me one!

I just handled an ion with a stock trigger for the first time today....

WTH?? From now on, I only recommend them with a nice aftermarket one....

There nice with an aftermarket trigger but that stock thing was nasty......

Get an Ion they cost around $199 which is pretty cheap for a decent gun, it can even be a lot better with new upgrades in the future (Feedneck, Trigger, Barrel, Reg, Bolt if ya want).
