Looking for a barrel
Hello, I have been out of paintball for many years. The last gun I had was a tippman 68 and a pirahana long barrel. So I got tippmann 98 custom for 88 bucks and I'm looking to get a barrell with great accuracy. Any help would be great.

match the barrel to the paint. Youll need to find out what bore size your paint typicaly is.

I have a Teardrop. It works pretty well but there are definitely better barrels to be had if you are willing to spend the money. You whould give us a price range that you were thinking of.

Is there a barrel out there that people will unanimously say is better than the other ones? I always get conflicting answers depending on the number of people you ask as to - what is the best barrel. If price was not a concern, what is the best barrel for a 98c?

If price is not an object you're going to be best off with a barrel kit. Something like the Smart Parts Freak, Evil Pipe, or Redz Pepperstick. Even still you aren't going to get a definite answer.

If you just want a kickass barrel, order a CP one-piece, or a two-piece, off of PBG. They are pretty cheap, and are very nice for the price. As for a length and bore, I'd say 14in. overall length with a .691 bore for any player.

there is not a "best" barrel. any barrel that was in the list above will preform just the same as any other in the list. I prefer J&J because if you get a break it's essentially self-cleaning and you shoot it out in a few shots. but that's my personla opinion.
the best way to do it is find the bore size the paint you'll be using the most and match it up with a barrel that has a matching bore size.

All aftermarket barrels will basically perform the same, unless its a kit. Its all about paint to bore.

A barrel kit will out-perform any single barrel 98% of the time. The downside to barrel kits is their high price. If you want something cheap that will still shoot well go with something like a Teardrop, J&J Ceramic, or a CP.

Yeah, whatever you do, don't get a barrel longer than 16" because it is pointless and in most cases it starts slowing your paintball down before it leaves the barrel and will give you worse efficiency.
