Need Advice on First Gun
Hey, im just starting out to paintball alot and me a couple friends are going to start a team. Now we are all new players, we have gone out a couple times and it was very fun and we dident do to bad. We even beat a team of good players, like i mean they all had their own guns and they had some like tubes and such on their belt, so they must at least have been playin a while.
But back to it we all use rental M98s and we need to get our own guns. My one friends wants to get an Ion, and the other ones arnt sure (prob want something like the Ion). I want to get a M98 Pro and get a good barrel, and a good hopper, and use that for a little then upgrade more later down the line. We will mostly be playing speedball, with some woods for fun. But im not sure if the tippmann will be available to compete with the others in speedball, even with amazing upgrades.
...whats up with all the underlined crap

tippmann effect(tippmann's tourny team) uses extremely upped markers, for you id suggust actually an like a cocker, or even an ION, good beginner maker, if you really want a tippy, get the Custom 98 pre, comes with good barrel, PM me if you need to know anything else

Tippmans are not the be all end all of low-end markers. Familiarize yourself wiht the stickys and marker in general first...

stay away from the rocking frames. If you want to spend that kind of cash, buy the basic imagine and a t-board with eyes.

he was obviously not interested in the ion or a gun that requires HPA. this is a first gun, and hes obviously looking at something less expensive.
. God talk about an arrogant ass, get over youself

Tippmanns are nice starter gun, cheap, tough as hell, and long lasting. A-5 or 98c is the way to go.

ok i hate ions but ions r pretty good for a beginner goin into speedball. the downside is u have to spend money on an HPA tank. i would go w/ an imagine or a tippy pro custom(e-grip)

Whatever you do, don't get a Trilogy autococker or an A5. An Ion would not be a bad choice and if you look in the right places you can just find a small tank for uber cheap and then a used Revolution.

A-5 is too expensive for what you're getting. The 98 Custom is practically the same thing minus the cyclone feed system. The A-5 is a gas hog to begin with and is especially one with the cyclone feed. Tippmanns are pretty heavy for speedball. They are long, so unless you have an uber huge drop forward it makes it harder to play tight against your bunker (not that its impossible mind you). There are some other reasons too, but they're much less significant. For what you pay for an A-5 you can get an ion which will out-perform it in nearly every way except durability and ease of maintenance.
