Flatline Barrel vs Others

Hey! I was looking around and saw the flatline barrel. Looks pretty good, but most tippmanns i see dont have it, and its not exactly expensive so it makes me wonder why not everyone is using it. Currently my girlfriend is using a DYE boomstick 14" barrel, and was wondering if the flatline is worth upgrading to. Also here is a list of upgrades i will be getting her for the tippman as well, so if someone would like to pick it apart and tell me whether its worth it or not. Just want some second opinion before spending another 200 to 300=)

Heres the list:
Flatline barrel of course
Expansion chamber kit
Electric frame kit
Foldable stock ( I already have one just flimsy and weak )
Cyclone feed system
And low pressure kit eventually

Currently it's and almost stock gun with boomstick barrel and folding stock.

Of course im not going to do this all at once, just little by little as i get the cash. The other thing is, is would i be better off just buying a new gun? If so which gun would be a nice upgrade for woodsball?

(If this post should have gone elsewhere im sorry Really just figured newbie talk is always a good place to post with questions)

Thanks a ton!
Sammy

i wouldnt bother witht he flatline.. for a barrel, it's pretty expensive, and the extra distance especially in woodsball is pretty much useless... an expansion chamber is an alright upgrade, i wouldnt bother with the e-frame, unless you are loaded and dont have anything better to spend your money on.. dont get a new stock, keep the one you have now, if it breaks, it breaks.. you dont need one, try and use the co2 tank for a stock... imo it's very comfortable, i'm assuming you have a 98c if you want a cyclone feed. dont get the cyclone feed, find yourself a nice electric loader such as reloader b or a halo, some people love the cyclone, some hate it, i guess it's more personal opinion, and dont bother with a low pressure kit, it's not needed and will further the gas inefficiency of that type of marker.

for woodsball i wouldnt buy anything different. if you eventually want to try and play at a field around your area, and want a cheap gun to be able to play woods AND speedball with, low end i would go with an imagine, if you want something a little higher priced and better performance, look at IONs.

Well put...my friend bough a flatline a couple years ago and as soon as he played a game with it he realized he made a huge mistake. He did'nt like it at all.It might be worth getting if it wasn't so expensive. But like HuNtS said, its all personal opinion, but these are my thoughts.

to add on about the flatline.. yes, you will get the extra distance... but by that time, even if the ball does hit someone the chance that it will bounce is WAY up... the speed the ball is travelling in the extra distance the flatline gives it is usually too slow for it to break... unless it hits like a rock or something

yeah, even if the flatline can shoot farther, it has limitted accuracy

as far as upgrades go, if your into woodsball those ups are great, but if you wanna cross between speedball and woods it might be good to look into a spyder

i was about to suggest going to an A-5, but there's not going to be enough difference there to warrant buying a whole new gun

Keep your Tippy as a backup gun and get a better marker. You can dump 200 into your 98 easily and it won't be as good as a 200$ Ion. Get a HPA Tank, nice hopper, nice mask. Things you can use on other guns. I like my 98 and played all weekend with it at a scenario game but my Ion is a better gun overall.
