Talking Another Noob

Hello guys! i´m fairly new in to gotcha (paintball) and i just love it. I started playing several months ago. My question is the following, i´m starting to gear up myself (rental gear sucks in mexico). Basically i already have my mask, a DYE invision... but now i´m looking for my first marker.

I like to play both ways, the woods and the speed ball. And currently i have 2 options in mind for my first marker.

Tippmann 98 Custom (because of the capabilities to upgrade) but after reading your review on this i realize that cannot be a good perfomer on speed ball games.

Spyder MR2 electronic i dont like much the idea of electronics.. but well.. what can i do.

Those 2 markers are ok for my budget and i kinda like them (well.. the tippmann is great after upgraded.. :P)

I would like to hear your opinion guys, i´m not pro yet... but i want a good marker that can grow with me.

THanks

instead of the MR2 (i would avoid that completely because most of the money you're paying for it is paying for the pretty, but useless shrouding that make it look like a milsim marker) i would suggest an imagine or if you want to go a little better/more capable, a pilot ACS. with spyders you dont have to worry about the electronics, and they can take a beating and keep on working... like you said, a tippmann isnt really practical for decent speedball applications, so go with something like an imagine. Also, spyders are JUST AS UPGRADEABLE as tippmanns, tippy's may have more in the way of mil-sim visual upgrades, but when it comes to internals, and functioning parts they are very close to the same... either way you get a good starting marker for cheap and you can have fun and do with it what you will. good luck!

all paintball guns shoot the same distance, so basically, no, there is no sniping in that sense... every gun shoots the same sized round ball at the fields designated speed of usually around 250-280FPS, so they'll all go pretty much the same distance..

all markers shoot the same distance or range... if you're thinking about sniping, then stop. All markers will shoot the same distance at the same velocity, no matter if it's a $40 wal-mart gun or a tippmann modded out to look like a sniper
