Need good durable marker

Hello to all.

What i need is frost proof marker, good for tournaments and woods. My budget is up to 1000, (but the less - the better ), within two comparatively similar to my criteria models I’ll choose lighter (even if it’s 10 to 20% expansiver).

Here is the deal in more specific:

I’m rather beginner than well trained player (as for tournaments). I’m looking forward to play much more for my team next season. I'm forward player. Paintball as a sport is pretty young in my country, so we don’t really have good infrastructure and first of all not that good choice of equipment. I have friends in US who can provide me with stuff I need, but it means that I can not upgrade my stuff as often as it’s necessary.

So it all comes to choice of marker:

I play both wood- and speedball, (app 50/50) we play summer as well as late autumn and young spring when it is 21- 41,00 F. (-5 to 5 C) . I’m thinking of buying good solid marker and several feeders (for woods – simple and firm and for speedball fast and multifunctional). All the places we play are outdoor.

Used to play with tippman a5 and ion. First is too heavy for playing forward (i might be wrong, but its just my experience), and didnt like ion due it's shoot down problem.

I’ll appreciate any kind a help. Thanks in advice, Max.

P.S. The other question is spare parts. Due to problem I explained I’ll have to supply myself in advice. So I have to know what are the weak points of specific models, to buy parts forehand.

E-mag plain and simple. Small, switchabale between mech and E in the field, and level X works as well as eyes, but require no power to be functional. ULE models weigh next to nothing, and if you choose to go with a Q or warp feed, you have the direct body feed as a choice. Youll find MAg's to be more durable than just about anything out there, including tippmans. I have a classic that has NEVER broken down on me in ten years with minimal maintenance.

Mag's are overlooked because they dont come out with a new model every year, they dont have a bunch of fancy milling etc etc., it's a crock of crap. Ive shot just about every high end marker on the market....im sorry Ive never seen one i truly felt was any better than the e-mag's

You probolly just had it set up wrong. They don't have shoot down if there tuned correctly.

If its cold run hpa, that should eliminate that problem.

With A grand you can get one of the PE shockers. Dm's and Pm's. Theres alot in that rpice range.

If you have the ability, try out some high end guns. Decide which one is right for you based on how well you preform with it.

I would go with what txaggie suggested... A mag. With that budget, you can buy an HPA tank and a halo or reloader b. The gun and tank will be good in the cold but make sure you take good care of your paint because in the cold, that is what will malfunction most of the time.

Thanks a lot. The thing is that as far as i understand they are not produced any more. And if AGD stop selling parts - it'll be quite a problem for me. Do they sell new emag theese days anyway?

yes they do sell emags.

The story with the emag is interesting. They will probably never make the lowers again, BUT! the valve(wich in mag lingo is the entire functional part of the gun), the body, and the rail is in full production, and will be for a long time. The only thing no longer being activley produced is the "lowers", wich are the trigger frame and battery pack housing.

Parts for them are EXTREMELY easy to come buy, AGD still has many emags that havent sold, and things like the battery, solenoid etc. are attainable from other manufacturers. Many people have even stepped out and bought predator-morlock boards for there emags. Xvalve(and emag and retro valve) rebuild kits can be bought new from several places, including the factory. Trust me, parts are not hard to find, and all mags i have ever seen are tougher than boot leather and last a VERY long time.

check out automags.org for a group of nutters like me

tunamart.com
themagsmith.com

are both dealers speificaly for mag parts.

I would go with one of the new markers. Look into the Mini or the Rail, I would look into the Epiphany too, but if you don't like Ions, that is just a factory upped Ion. As for air, definately go with HPA. And for a loader, you don't need more than one, look into a Halo or Empire B, A Velocity, or I would check out the new Pulse. Also, DON'T SKIMP ON THE MASK!!! The mask is the most important piece of equipment, look into the Profiler, Invision, Grill, or Proflex. For all of this stuff, go to www.axpaintball.com, they will have everything you need.

Why? Why exactly should he go with a "newer marker" and what makes the automag an "older marker" There still being produced today. Something tells me your advice has no bearing beyond "whats popular".

Yea, Mags are good guns, I think they might just be a little expensive. Also imo they are butt ugly.

are you smoking something? those arent even the nicest guns i could find, they were just convenient in AO's pic thread.. The issue with mags cost, they hold there cost. There not like newer guns that fal exponentialy after the year there made.
