I would get a 14' All-American
A good barrel is the first best upgrade you can get. Then get a electronic hopper, and double trigger. That out to deck you for the woods. All Tippmann 98 Customs come Semi-Auto. Im assuming you mean full auto. In order to do that you would need a E-Grip (100) or a Response trigger, that shoots about 13-15 pbs(pretty fast(60)

All Tippmann 98's are semi. You need to fill your tank, or buy a tank. As for upgrades, I would play more before upgrading a 98 because most new players switch to speedball after a little bit, and so you should save your money for a speedball gun, a Tippmann will work, they are just kinda big. The only upgrades I would recommend would be ups that you can transfer to a new gun, like an electric hopper, or HPA tank.

Dogfish is starting to beat me to it . He is absolutley correct. If you want a good upgrade path that will be better in the long run, Stay with things like

Barrel kit(insert based like a DWwisper or freak)
HPA tank-dont skimp, buy a good one
E-hopper - buying a halo isnt necessary but would certainly not be a bad idea
Gear in general- Think about a good mask, pod pack, pants or jersey if desired, Start getting things youll want.


I honesty, unless you become an entirely dedicated woodsball layer, you need to hold off on gun upgrades. That 98 is perfectly acceptable the way it is now until you decide what you want to do.

Your gun is already semi-automatic btw, I would agree that you must not have usfficient air in the tank OR you have an issue with the gun.

To keep it relevant , I think he's at least somewhat interested in speedball because he posted a question about an indoor speedball field a few days ago.

Ya, All American Paintball-- Im really interested in speed ball.. I met a guy there selling me his ion for $100+.. So I got the tippmann for when i play Woodsball

Well my suggestion would be just wait it out for now and in a couple of months see how you like the 98 Custom. If you still want it then go with upgrades but right now you'll probably end up selling it and getting something different.
