I got my first marker and now I'm scared that the other people might be mean and make fun of me, because I have a marker, but I suck. Is this the common situation or is it different?

i dont see why people would make fun of you for owning your own marker.. it saves you money eventually from not having to rent all the time, a majority of the time your own marker will be better than a rental, and even if you arent very good at paintball yet, owning your own marker shouldnt be a reason for someone to make fun of you.

The only times I've ever heard of people getting made fun of for owning there own marker is when a complete noob walks up to the field in full gear with a high end gun and doesn't even know how to use it. As long as you don't act like a tool nobody will make fun of you.

Practice and get better, than wipe them up on the feild. Seriously we all started somewhere. If someone makes fun of you dont think anything about it and just remember they were like you at one time. The people that make fun of your are on the darkside of paintball, cheating and whining. You know there are great people though that will not make fun of you. Just keep playing and getting better.

I remember like..the 5th time i went to go play, me and all my friends had Spyder Pilots. there was this kid with this...ugly upped ION. he told us that spyders sucked and we sucked because we had them...well he was on the other team..

me and my friend luke mopped him up as we BOTH found him and BOTH bunkered him...didn't even realize it was him till we saw his little ION come out from the fox hole.

so ya just get better, improve your stance, positioning, shooting, accuracy etc etc and just show them up. and ya owning saves u atleast $10 maybe a little less... u never know.

Pactice your game. I have a hopped up Spyder Esprit/Imagine and was playing an indoor field with my buddies from work when the house team want a scrimmage aginst us. We said sure, cause playing paintball is what we were there for. Well to make a long story short I Blasted the team captian, who had a new (at the time) Dye Matrix, right off his start. He had a bloody melt down and accused me of cheating. Yelling and screaming the field owner pulled him off the field, and apoligized for his teams actions. You can win with anything. You only have to work hard. There are semi-pro teams me and my buddies can beat with pumps. Play smart and play hard and when you can afford a good high end marker you will truely be a CHAMP!!!

Just out of curiosity, what kind of gun is it? And, the only two ways you will probably be made fun of is if your gun sucks, but you act like it's the best, or if you have a high end, and you suck. JUst don't act immature and you wont be fun of. But in the end, who cares what other people think, if you like it.

I told them to just get an ION, which they did get, but it was broken so the shop told me to get that new smartpart marker I think it an epinary or something. They said I get 10% off, I said no. Parent say im not buying you another marker, so they order the epinary.

I don't suck i'm just not the best with the double trigger.

Yeah, epiphanys are just upgrades IONs but w/e, its still a gun.

I never got made fun of really but i got tons of respect when I played with a slingshot and bunkerd 2 people hah

lol i'll still single shoot on a double trigger, it takes time trust me! my best friend cant walk and he's been playing for a year now. so it takes practice and once again time. but once you get it and im sure you will it will double your shooting speed which is why i prefer double triggers over the A-5's stock single style.

Yeah, a always like double triggers, even on a mech. They are cheap and i just like teh feel and more about them than the single triggers.

Something to do to learn to walk is, when you are bored in class put a pen half on and half off a desk, and tilt it 45 degrees and try to keep it going back and forth. Also Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball for PS2 or Xbox or PSP(I think) makes your finger really fast, and sometimes use your middle finger then just learn to put it together. Try and walk slow but right when you start off then work on speed.

another good walking excercise is taking your mouse and putting a finger over the left clicky bar and walknig your finger, or just doing it without the finger either way it works pretty well. but try to work on consistency then speed at first.

I use an ION, and yes, i am new. But i dont play like a complete noob, jumping, barking orders, running around like a dick basically. I dont need the fancy stuff on it, like the "fkn sw337 FR33K B4RR3L", i just need my gun and a field to have a blast...
