18" barrel instead of 16" Does it cost range??
I`m interested in 18" barrel, but I'm worried about the total range... does a longer barrel costs range?
Thx

I don't know about decreasing range, but I know it won't improve range or accuracy by enough to tell the difference. So I wouldn't get an 18", just get a 14", it's all that you'll ever need.

It might, but you'd never be able to tell the difference. Unless the bore size of the paint was too big for the barrel.

Its going to be large, bulky, and potentialy detrimental to accuracy. Other than that no it shouldnt cost range.
Why do you want the 18"?

I thougt, it would give me better precsion in wider distance...
So is it correct, if I say a 16" or 18" (for example CP 2Piece Pro) barrel doesn't give me advantages against an 14" barrel???
What would you buy??

You won't get any advantage using an 18 inch. 14 inch is perfect because it doesn't get in the way and you can push into bunkers with it.
I use a 14 inch freak.

No longer than a 14". Your line of thinking is correct for a rifle, not for something as imprecise as a pb gun.
I prefer 10 and 12's myself, but have a 14" on my impulse at the moment and dont have to many issues with it. With a shorter gun, longer barrels dont bother me, but i certainly wouldnt want more than a 12 on something like a tippman. I would go with a freak, or another 2 piece barrel kit so you can swap tips out to your preference. Buy tips in 12" and 14" and see wich you prefer.

Its simple physics, if your velocity is the same with a 16in and 18in than it'll go the same distance.
As for accuracy, it will make so little of difference that having the long 18in barrel is not worth it. It'll just get in the way.
16 or 14 and sometimes 12 inch for a front player, are the best barrel lengths.

I agree. I got a 16 inch because i thought i'd be playing back and I liked how i could stay real ight in the bunkers. BUt I also learned that i hated playing back. So now i have a 16 inch J&J barrel that i cant' get rid of.
