Question about a-5 upgrades! (stocks, barrels, triggers, etc.)
Alright im lookin to get a tippmann a-5 pretty soon and need to know some important stuff. For a barrel i want to know which can provide me more range and accuracy, the flatline or lets say a 16 or 20 inch barrel. and if i were to get a long barrel, would it interfere with my sight? For stocks i want to know which would be more comfortable for woodsball semi-close combat like a field of tall grass maybe, would i be better off with a folding stock or an adjustable length stock (i want to be able to change fast). Now for a double trigger, i want to know if it is more comfortable in your opinion and does it break easy? last but not least i want to know if the R-5 A-5 ricochet hopper is a good loader for the A-5 in your opinion. Please feel free to ask questions.

do not get any barrel over 14 inches. anything more ruins performance by slowing the ball down with extra drag.
the flatline question will just start a post war. if you can try to shoot the flatline and another barrel so you can see which one you like.
on the stocks question you will get the opinion that they are lame from most people and serve no purpose but if you want one i would go adjustable.
the double trigger will not break unless you slam it into the ground.
the hopper will not make a difference because the a5 has the built in loader system. the ricochet won't get enough extra bounces to justify buying it in my opinion.

Do not get a flatline. THye are overrated. Sure tehy add range but the balls are moving slower so the balls wont break, making it worthelss. Also you would be lucky to hit someone at great range because flatlines also have the worst groupings. You need to use a little thicker shelled paint with them also, which makes balls bounce even more. My freind has a 14" Freak on his and tis amazing, go get a nice barrel kit.
Stocks are bad and do nothing other than make it look real and give bad posture. Save teh money and spen dit on something that enhances performance, like an E-grip. If all you had on your A5 was a new barrel and Egrip that would be enough. Then get a double trigger, they are very nice and can be surprisingly fast (for a tippmann) with a little tweaking.
The loader on an A5 makes no difference as teh cyclone feed deos it all. Reall its just preferance.

Speak English and get Firefox.
Thread Starter: Now can you see what I mean about the flatline? Everyone has their own opinion. My opinion is don't get it but you're the one that has to deal with it. My opinion on the stock is don't get it but once again you have to deal with it.

alright so here is what im settling with, 12 OR 14" "freak" barrel, no stock, sticking with the a-5 loader because it looks cool, double trigger, and maybe a rail (dont know anything about them). Here are my remaining questions. About the cyclone feed, does it really affect performance? and does it break easy?(clog or just stop working). what are rails used for. whats an E-grip. and what specific type of barrel do you reccomend?
Thanks again for answering!

A freak is a type of barrel, however other good barrels are CP, Deadly Whisper, Peppersticks, Freak, Dye, Stiffi and that likes.
An Egrip is an electronic grip. It makes your gun shoot as fast as an A5 can, and it will make a world of difference.
A rail is used to mount a sight, something you dont need. Paintballs are too inaccurate to be able to line up in a scope. The only good scopes do is act like a binoculars, but you really dont need them.
The cyclone feeds do not jam, but be carefull when your taking it apart to remember how it geos back in. The good news is that alot of people know how to fix tippmanns.
