a progressive barrel is a smart parts barrel
its just like a teardrop and a linear
for woodsball i would reccomend a 14" stiffi (because their quiet and light)
2 piece barrels generally have bores which u match the bore size to the paint

16"

I moved to a 16" twister barrell and it has been working good for me ever since. I do go back to my 9 inch tippmann barrel from time to time.

I would recommend a maximum of a fourteen inch barrel.

The names you listed are specific typeas of barrel, The differences are purely cosmetic(some weight difference) a barrel will make next to zero impact on anyhting but cosmetic factors unless you using a kit with a good match...

Talking noob here

So, now I understand that the barrel kits allow you to select the best match for the diameter of the paint that you have. From what I've read, the simplest way to improve accuracy is to match the paint to your barrel. My local paintball shop carries Diablo Heat and Nightmare. If I can hit a target @ 400 yards with a sporting rifle, I ought to get the hang of paintball ballistics. I even have a chronograph. At current settings, my xtra is doing 271 fps. SD about 14 fps. My current goal is not to get crazy and get another marker but to learn how to use what I've got. I'm glad I found this forum.

for a spyder i'd reccommend a teardrop, they look good.. at least on mine and they do generally work better than stock barrels, but the differences between aftermarket barrels is next to none..
