my first tank leaked. did i do something wrong?

ok, got my tank filled for the first time with this gun. thought i did everything right.

i pulled the bolt back and then screwed the tank on. put the hopper on and everything then turned the safety off.

took a few shots outside just to make sure everything was ok with it. unscrewed the c02 and thought everything was ok with it. when i put the tank to my ear, i could hear a little bit of a leak. so i went back to my local shop and they swaped it out for me.

i havent tried the new one yet because i wanted to make sure i didnt do something dumb the first time around

were was it leaking from precisely? Sounds like you got a tank with the burst disk not tefloned or loctited in well enough. You didnt do anything wrong i can see.

may have just been a bad pin valve, or there could be something wrong with your asa. probably a defective tank, CO2 tanks ar not manufactured to the highest quality standards

They do that sometimes. Usually if you poke it with a screwdriver and let a small burst of gas escape it'll seal again.

Wasn't your fault at any rate.

I have some older tanks, and this happens a lot. I just screw them back in and then unscrew them or do what torch is saying. It's just that the pin didn't line up perfectly.
