A few simple questions!?!?
I just have a few questions, thanks for answering if you do..
1. How often do C02 cans last, considering your gun isn't particularly wasteful?
2. What do you do if you want to play in a meadow near your house (considering it's legal), but don't want to pay for a chronograph to calibrate your gun, but also don't want to tear your friend's skin apart?
3. What type of maintenance is required for guns (pre-game, post-game, etc?)
Thanks

on a basic blowback gun, theres almost no maintenance. Keep it clean, lube it every once in a while.
Im not shure what kind of effeciency your getting, it can vary dependant on weather etc.
AS to the chrono issue, Your best bet is to take the gun to a field, chrono it. Establish a specified mark in your backyard that you can shoot at from a specific range. Get used to what 280 looks like at that range, then check the gun later. overestimate your velocity, never do the "well its close ill turn it up just a little bit". my advice is to drop the little bit of money on a pocket chrono till you get more experience.

Yeahm, im geussing your usin a cheaper spyder or a clone, maybe even a tippmann. CO2, hm, well i never really measure it but i could shoot a case of paint and use a 20 oz and then i would put another on and that would still be around half full on my spyder xtra.
For chronoing, you can hear if balls are going really fast. Also there was this old trick where if you were shooting at a pine tree from a certain distance, if the bark came off the gun was too high but if it didnt you were fine.
Pre game should be done before hand so there is not a ton of pre game. Post game however just requires taking the gun apart, wiping it down, and then re lubing and reassembling.

haha we did this redneck chrono trick, one guy stands behind a piece of plywood or a piece of corrogated metal or what ever you have, then one guy with a velocity that was known to be safe would shoot the plywood/metal, the guy behind it would compare that sound to the sound of everyone elses gun and tell them to turn thier velocity up or down, worked for us, but a chronograph is much safer. In fact, i wonder how accurate our old trick was? i'll have to test that some time.

Id say just go to a local feild and have them chronoed there, if you just wana chrono your gun they will usually let you, iv never heard on anyone charging to use a chrono, personally i dont think a 20 oz will get through a case of paint, maybe if you dumped tons of money to make the gun really efficint (but then you probably wouldnt be using co2 anyway), but i know i couldnt with my Piranha when i had it, Im liking renegade storm's idea up there but im also wondering if its very reliable, well have fun with your feild game
