All I know is that you should not buy a 21 inch barrel.

lol 21 inch barrel will make the paint hit the end of ur barrel then just plop out. a 16" is pushing it.

for a 98custom it depends on playstyle, Flatline will make it go straighter but it'll bounce more because u lose speed because of the backspin. a regular 14" will increase range and accuracy but it depends on the quality / what material its made out of.

for speedball i'd recommend a 12" or a 14" and if its like tourny style paintball (like more close and less like woodsball ) then a flatline would be nice because ur close enough it'll break. but we need more info to diagnose your playstyle from what you would need.

get a 14 inch no matter what you get, for small bore, you cant beat a used boomstick, and for larger bores, J&J ceramics are REALLY nice

the flatline is a good barrel, once you get it adjusted, ad if you can stand things like not being able to take your gun apart untill you take the barrel apart, having to re-glasspack it every so often, and having to keep it impecable clean to fire right

The new SP progressive in matte black is a nice barrel. I bought one for my Ion for bush ball and it works great. If your just a Rec Baller a Freak Kit or other adjustable barrel is not needed but if you see yourself moving to a better faster marker, if you have, say a freak, in the future when you get a new marker all you have do do is upgrade you Kits back section. With the Freak, or any adjustable barrel its nice to be ableto match paint to barrel for better accuracy.
