Price difference in hoppers?
Can someone explain to me why the Reloader B is $50 more than the Evlution 3 yet it has the exact same feed rate?

Yeah, a reloader b can probably keep up that pace, but an Evo cannot, they just took the top feedrate and put it in the statistics. Plus a reloader b can have a lot more upgrades, rip drive, different shells, and different trapdoors/speed feeds, Evolution 3 isn't bad for it's price, but if you have the money, the reloader b would be the better price.

The most straight forward answer is that the EVO3 is less consistent. What i mean is the feed rate maxs at 23 but it never stays at 23. The average is more around 18-20ish probably. The evo will have a lot better battery life and is more durable and maintenance free but the empire will feed more consistently.

Yes, thats with an Egg2. I imagine with a faster feed rate the average will also increase in the egg3.

but it's still not purely force fed like a reloader B is. Spend the money on a reloader b instead of an eggy.

I don't really want to spend $130 on a hopper that I can't even take advantage of.

Well, if you do buy used get a vlocity, halo/empire loaders break alot. It always seems like my teammates are having problems with them. A used vlocity can be had for what? $60-$80 maybe. If you just have a lower end blowback (Piranha, spyder) then yeah, a egg will be fine. If you dont have a low rise feedneck however the egg will stand up like none other and be really tall. If you get the VS2 though it already has a low rise so you will be fine.

I've had my Halo for almost 3 years and have never had a problem with it. It is very durable, feeds consistently, and is virtually maintenance free. In comparison, some of my team mates had Egg3's and they had nothing but problems. For the money a base Halo is better than an Egg3 any day.

Now, ive had different luck. I always see Halos break, the drive cone, etc, they suck battery's and the buttons seem to wear out. Ive never owned or seen an Egg3 but my egg2 has worked flawless. Its never broken (incept the battery door, but almost all had that problem until the door was replaced) and i change the batterys like once a year. Also the Vlocitys that i have seen have never broken. Once again, this is just my experiance with them.

pssssh, when i had an egg i couldnt get the thing to work for the life of me...
it would die randomly in games, then start up later...
it wouldn't feed as fast as i would have liked, and i only had an imagine when i got it, then i got an ion...
i had to clean the eyes constantly - and i've gone through more lids...
i would personally say get the reloader b or a halo. if something happens to the shell you can always replace it with a nicer shell which (if you get a nice brand) will have a warranty so if it breaks again, you can always just send it back.
you could utilize the higer feed rate to keep from chopping on ANY marker, and if you decide to upgrade, you wont need to spend extra money to get a better hopper along with the cash you'll spend for the marker.
if your hopper dies in the middle of a game you'll have a rip drive so you wont get screwed, also, you can upgrade and personalize an empire much more...
i have a halo, and a reloader both with suicide shells... i've never personally had the door break, nor the drive cone, but i've had the battery cover break, as well as the spring for the door, and the neck... (i just replaced the door with a speed feed anyway) all problems that i've seen happen to egg's as well as halo's.
if you're scrapped for cash the egg will get you by, but you'll be much happier with a halo.
my suggestion, just save up for a bit - you'll find yourself happier in the end...

Ive never cleaned my eyes on my egg, nor has it ever not worked. Its been the most reliable loader i have ever seen.
