Well its a cheap spyder. It'll work, but it's not going to preform all that well and it will be pretty prone to breaking. You get what you pay for.

Despite looking cool, it isn't different than the other spyders. I would rank it lower than them however because it looks like it has a plastic grip frame on it. It might just be the lighting though.

I would save up a little extra money and pick up a Spyder Imagine, usually the price hovers around $100. Has an electric trigger system and that will enable it to hold up better against more expensive markers in terms in firepower.

If the grip is plastic and you still want to get a nice mech spyder get a Xtra. Despite what kaz says mine has been working now for 5 years almost. Its a great gun.

The old plastic frames the spyders come with arent THAT bad, but there not great. The imagine is definetly the way to go however, MUCH more potential.

Now for a little more the VS2 would be a ten times better choice. There triggers are comaprabel to the ion, the have eyes, they fire pretty darn well, and honestly are enough simpler than an ion illd recommend one to a beginner over said ion.

I agree the plastic frames aren't *that* bad...the school club's guns all have them and we haven't had a problem yet. They have a little flex in them though. Also we had to take the body/frame screws out of everyone and loctite them pretty good- They kept coming loose on the field and we lost a few.

But, no functional problems yet. I just like my metal frames.

Listen, for a good price you can pick up that gun and be happy. The gun is very upgradeable so you could always put more money into it at anytime. If you're looking for a good starting gun I would recommend it, just make sure you send the warranty card into Kingman.....just in case

Well Considering the stock ion trigger is a piece of crap. the VS2 is basically Eyes, Modes, and a Body over a regular spyder build. For the money its not bad at all, but don't get the VS3 the rocking trigger is just horrid. and yea i'd recommend over an ION because an ION is a pain to take apart just to get to the bolt.

Actually, the VS2 runs at lower pressure which makes the gun last longer and shoot smoother. It is a step up from regular Spyders.

The VS2 also has a more modern trigger system, it's configured more like an ions than the old clicky-clack spyder triggers have always been(has pre, post, and activation point adjustments).
