hopper

Yea, well i got two gravity fed hoppers for my 98c and my spyder xtra. The damn hopper wont fit on the spyder, but both fit on the tippmann. If the only fits on one of the guns, does that mean there are different sizes which the paint goes through on both the gun and the hopper?

There are two open ends on a hopper. one big one with a flap to load paint into. and the other, where they come out of, and into your barrel. the bottom part is supposed to fit snugly over or into a small opening above the barrel(the small cylinder sticking out on top the gun). My hopper doesnt go into or over that part at all.

No, the tubes that come out of the hopper (where the balls go into the gun from the hopper) is a different thickness. You could possibly sand down the feedneck (where the balls come out of the hopper. The feedneck is also the part of the gun that you stick the hopper into) a little to accommodate the hopper in the spyder.

P.s. You need an adapter for the Xtra. Its a plastic part with screws on both ends and is called an elbow usually. They generally cost about $5.

Actualy that spyder is supposed to have an adapter in order to fit a hopper. If you go over you'll have to force it(which we do on rentals anyway cause the adapters suck and break all the damn time)

Your best bet is a new feedneck, which can be had for about 30$

(CCM Spyder Heli Clamp No Rise Feed Neck - No Holes - Black / Black at ActionVillage.com : Paintball) :is my recommendation on a feedneck. IMO, CCM makes excellent quality products.

Kingman Spyder Straight Elbow - Clear at ActionVillage.com : Paintball :the adapter you need for a stock spyder

If you force the neck of the hopper down over the feedneck, be sure to use a pipe clamp to hold it in place.

volkers kinda beat me to part of the explanation LOL, but there are the links nonetheless

not really. if you're really strapped fro cash, you can slot the feedneck to your hopper and squeeze the hopper on. it's worked for me in dire situations, just be sure to tape around the feedneck well.

Yeah, what, ectras are at least $40 cheaper than the 98? Go spend $5 on a straight elbow, or $30 on a clamping feedneck.
