do most of the drop forewards fit most guns universally? or will SP only work with SP and not with cockers or Matrix's?

that depends, some guns have a place for a rail to mount (looks like Z_________Z) (closests i can draw on forums) some have 2 screw holes in the bottem, such as a 98, most on/offs and drops will fit universally, but, depending on your gun you may need a rail that will adapt it to fit that particular gun

so i think i need one that has the two holes to attach to the bottom of my trigger frame and the dovetail rail to attach to a dovetail ASA? does this sound right?

most drops i have seen have the dovetail on the ASA end, i use a shockteck medium on my T98 with a shockteck on/off and the on/off is held in place with the dovetail and a simple grub screw, then the 98 accepts the 2 screws on the other

i would reccomend a shocktech small or medium drop, any larger and your killing it :-D

oh, and some sort of on/off ASA, shockteck i have found are very similar to dye drops and ASAs but MUCH cheaper, and still give that chrome look, i got my ASA for $5 used and the drop for $8, then again the 98 was $40 and my RT was $40

It bepends on the gun as to wether there universal, spyders do not use the same hole pattern as most guns. Hoever aside from the spyder, yes most are universal in design .
