Anyone can do it yes, but you need a dip-tube equipped large CO2 tank. Usually hardware stores or local fields can fill them for you.
Our field policy(the one we tell customers at any rate) is to bring the group back to the trailer for air every ~500 shots on a 12 ounce. Our rentals are mostly tippmans and spyder clones.
