Is this a good deal...?
Well, I'm very new to paintball (although I'm 22), and definately don't need anything that great... I usually just paintball with just a bunch of friends... and they don't have anything too fancy either.
We are usually playing in the woods, or around a bunch of dirt hills and bike ramps. Although we have talked about going to a few local places to actually play some speedball or woodsball.
Anyways, this is what I've found...
eBay: NEW Spyder PILOT ACS Paintball Gun Marker COMBO SET R (item 130102706825 end time Apr-25-07 18:44:20 PDT)
ebay is the main place I've been looking, but I also live 5 minutes away from this place: General Merchandise - Paintball, Knives, Swords, & Army Surplus Store - www.generalsway.com
so if you have any better suggestions or ideas, please let me know!

i think that the best starter gun is the tippman 98 custom and it is also good for woodsball.
There are deals on ebay now where tippmans are like at 40-50$ and some are in great condition
for your little spyder kit tho.......
i have a friend who has that gun.
SUCKS
not very good for woodsball either.
a lot of his shots go from side to side and too high up or hit ground 5 feet in front of target. Need i continue?
anyway the tippman is a very good marker at a cheap cost
you can also get good kits for it to make it awesome in the future

yes it does but if you are looking to fire faster u shouldnt get that spyder. from my experiences you would be lucky to get it fired lol
what is your exact budget?
i can work from there

well, the spyder was just something that i noticed that looked good and came with a kit, which is also good for me... but i can always buy the mask n stuff seperate...
since i'm not quite sure how long this phase will last me, i'm not sure how much i want to spend. money really isn't a problem, but i probably don't want to spend more than $200 on a gun... possibly much less (since it's just the gun)

yea, the ion might be a little too 'professional' for me, and pricey for what i need... i'm interested in the vs2 though. maybe i'll wait for some more opinions, but thanks. any thoughts on accuracy and ddistance at a decent rate of fire? those are probably the most important for me...

I would look more towards a spyder VS2 than a tippman personally. MOST people evolve out of the woodsball phase and become interested mainly in speedball. That tends to render the tippman pretty much useless. on the other hand, the VS2 will work well for either.

The VS2 is a better value than the ion. See the argument about VS2vs ion in gun review...

thanks for the info! 1 more question... i am reading about the VS2... "This marker requires compressed air. CO2 will NOT work on this marker"
i'm not even sure what my friends use, or where they get filled at... but that could be a problem maybe? if they only get CO2.

The VS2 will work on CO2 perfectly well.
