I have about 1000 balls of cheap paint, and I'm thinking of going next week. I just got a new gun, an Icon X (yes, I'm a newb) and was wondering if you guys had any input on what I should do. This pain has been sitting in my room since last August, and I was wondering if it would completely fail me out on the field. I haven't done any upgrades to the gun yet, but I wanted to know if you guys think I should buy some new and better paint, or just use the crap that I have.

If it has no dimples in it or if it's oval shaped then you should be fine. When I got my first gun i ran paint that was 2+ years old through it and it worked fine, but it was in an airtight ziplock bag the whole time.

Oh, well I have two bags of 500 balls. I opened one to see what it was like, the other one is still sealed in the bag it came in. Would it significantly affect my gun's accuracy if it is cheap rather than higher grade?

yes, cheap paint will not shoot as well. However it should still be fairly accurate.

If the paint you have looks fine (no dimples or irregular shaped balls) it's fine to use it. If it's oily use a rag and wipe the paint off.

Thanks for the info, but I was wondering by what kind of factor would buying a higher grade paint be. If I spent a bit more on paintballs, would it affect the accuracy drastically, or would the effects be minor?

The effects would be minor.

i never buy anything better then rec grade paint. Typically $40 a case. I find it's plenty accurate.

Ok, thats the grade of paint I use, because I remember buying this batch for $20 and it came with 1,000. Thank all of you for your advice on this situation.
