New player!
Hello and thanks for looking! I went to play paintball for the first time yesterday and got hooked! My friends and I were there for hours on end and now I'm looking into getting into the sport. I spotted a 'an Impulse Vision with upgraded low pressure regulator (LPR), locking feed neck, trigger, firing bolt, angle drop forward, and a Freak barrel'
I was wondering if this would be a good buy at $180 as I'm still learning many things about the sport. All advice is welcome!
Also, if anyone could tell me what are some good brands out there. Maybe not in the woods type brands, but I guess for field use. Hope that makes sense.

The world of markers is endless. Browse the manufacters listed on this forum, and those listed at all major retailers of paintball. The impulse would be a good buy, but deffinatly look around at all kinds of stuff befor you buy anything. There will always be competition.
Congrats on your inniation.

Thanks for the input! I've looked into different brands and saw a few that stuck out. Two of the brands were because my cousins had them. One was an Angel and another was an E-Tek. Both of which I can't afford. I was a deal for the Impluse and figured I would try and jump and get it because I've heard they were a "good" brand. I use quotes because I'm still unfamiliar with the whole thing.
Anyone else have any input?

I would also look into the ion, promaster, and wrath. They are better performance wise in my opinion. Many people will say the impulse is heavy. It is heavy compared to other guns but not heavy like most people think.

yeah, you can get a new in, which will out perform an up'd impulse any day, for around that same price. keep in mind, with either of those two you'll need a compressed air tank (as opposed to co2) and a decent hopper(either a VL Revolution or a Halo B)

I think I'm just going to go ahead and get it. I'm not in it for the the tournaments and stuff. He also said he's going to add in an electronic Halo hopper for free.

then go ahead and do it...
but it doesnt make any sense to buy a used gun that was in its prime 3-4 years ago and is so obsolete its not produced anymore for the same price you could buy a brand new, much better gun.
I could go into it and explain all the reasons for buying an ion instead, i actually started to, but it would be pointless and a waste of time since you wont listen.
If you want to waste your money go right ahead, but youre getting ripped off.

Not really a nice person are you there? Well, I got it. He also added in a Halo hopper which all came to about $150. Thanks.
I'm guessing you think it's obsolete because of the fact that it's not being made anymore? I don't think it matters as long as products are still being made for it. But that's just my two cents. Sorry if I'm not knowledgable like you.

With a halo, the gun is probably worth the 150$. The impulse is quite heavy, but is not a horrible gun. It will cycle as fast as any other poppit on the market...well I suppose that debatable, but it's close enough it wont matter for your purposes.
There excellent guns for use with CO2 if thats what your needing, but if not I would have gone with a different option.

I agree. If you're' happy with the marker you want to buy, then buy it! I was gonna warn you aboutt he price being a bti high, but with the added halo, it's a good deal.

Thanks. He added a Halo B hopper. From what it seems like, it's was a pretty good deal. The hopper is brand new too.

My first gun was an ION. I then got a VS2 and have had it ever since. Spyder is a great brand for starter players. A pilot would be a good fit.
