If a gun is better in one format then its better in both. Look at the Ion or VS2.

you will not be sorry with the ion, good for both. easy to maintain, just get to know it. sp>spyder any day, especially at close to same price.

I'm oldschool. I say pick up a cheap electro spyder so you can learn mantience and such before you jump to a electropnumatic marker like the ion

i agree, but i also disagree. the ion isn't that hard to disassemble/maintain. actually, in my opinion, i think it's easy. all you have to do is use the manuals instructions, the first few times, and you'll remember it from then on out, all you have to do is be careful. i think what you said is right, however, i think if your looking at those prices, you might as well get the ion and learn from that rather than get a spyder, learn from that, and then be stuck with a spyder.

i would say ION, its the same price and will last you longer in your career and you can coustomize it to your liking if you dont want to jump between marker to marker or get a higher end marker down the road. It is very difficult to get to the bolt on an ION. the difficulty of removing the bolt needs a intermediate player just so they don't ruin there board and cost another $100. But if you are careful then you can use it.

I'll say different of others an say the spyder VS2 : will perform as well as the Ion, and is easier to maintain and field strip. Also already include an ON/off, so you don'T have to buy an aftermarket. Plus the VS2 is capped to 25 Bps, while the Ion is capped to 17 bps (stock)
I personnally own a VS2, and it perform very well...
But both are great choices, go with the one you prefer.

I actually believe the best gun for you is the spyder imagine. First off, you can pick the up for 70 used at action village. secondly, co2 costs way less than hpa. you can use a halfway decent hopper with it, saving you more. if you buy an ion, you will spend at least 400 bucks for a hopper that can keep up, and an hpa tank.
if you discover you like paintball a lot, and you realize that paint isnt cheap and ballin is going to make you broke, then sell your **** and upgrade to w.e you want.

whats your price range ?
if its low go with a tippman 98
bt-4
or low end spyder
if its higher then go with the ion or vs2 i personally would suggest a ion just because i like the brand, and look of the gun also i highly suggest purchasing a compressed air tank if u have the dough its better to purchase it now for if you upgrade your gun in the future you will not have to upgrade from co2 i speak from personal experience

I think the spyder VS1 for sure. It's semi durable (still a spyder) but it has eyes so it woun't chop and it's pretty cheap.

yeah its $300 bare minimum for an ION set up thats with the cheapest HPA tank and a $50 electro hopper
and bps caps are worthless, a VS2 cannot do 25 cycles a second unless u mod it then its not a spyder its...something else. And that also explains how virtue is making loads off of IONs since people wnat to get rid of that crappy stock board.

from experience, The Ion, along with 98 customs, and A5s (both E-gripped) will work great for both...

I say get a PMR, it's durable and reliable. Also, it's not that expensive ($400).

For some people its hard to come up with that dough, plus he said he was thinking Ion or MR2 so we know is price range is about HALF of that.

I have a Tippy 98 Custom upped for Woods/Milsim, great gun even in its stock config its a great start, especially if your saying a mix of outlaw Woods and Rec Ball at a field. Thats what we do.
But do as they suggest, hit up some shops and see what they think, they work on these all day in and day out so definately get thier take, Allen Painball makes some cool ION upgrades with Woods/Milsim in mind and we have gone up against some of those, not bad guns. Shoot gone up against alot of guns, high dollar Tourney style guns dont intimidate me, Ill trade paint with anyone and the Tippman. Good luck with your quest. Anything that fings paint, wearing a mask and coming home with a few red angry rings on your skin means your hopefully having fun so it doesn't really matter what you wind up with. Get something of your own and start trading some paint. You will love it Im sure once you play it one time.
Afterthought, if you opt for a Tippman, get the newest flavor with the ACT, I have yet to chop a ball with mine. Just a suggestion for ya, there are older non ACT ones still out there in retail land. FWIW those Ions are kinda cool and one day I might bite on one and do the Milsim upping on it.
