accuracy, over rate of fire i would say. Speed ball, you need more rounds down field than say in woodsball.

In woods, each shot count. If you aim correctly, you can touch 2-3 people before they noticed where you are. But if you launch 100 shots from the same place, that will be alot easier to find you.

In speed, there's no hiding, so when someone in front of you move from a bunker to another one, shooting 15 bps can make the difference...

They don't use Speedball guns for Woodsball for many reasons.

1) They're normally colorful and gloss.
2) People try not to beat them up; they're very expensive.
3) Not as much range, generally.
4) Most likely not as accurate.
5) Most of them can't handle water at all. Electronics.

People don't use Woodsball guns for Speedball because..

1) Heavy, big, generally ugly.
2) Not fast ROF.
3) Not very maneuverable.

Hope that helps..

The majority of woodsballers are "weekend warriors", they play the game for fun as a hobby and are not looking to spend thousands of dollars on equipment. Thus they get a $100 tippmann or something that may not perform the best, but it gets the job done and will pretty much never break.

If you look at the majority of successful scenario teams, they use "speedball" gear. I believe Blues Crew still uses Evil Pimps and some Minions, Horrowshow uses Egos, Ragnarok uses A1s, etc. etc.
If you look at the teams in the SPPL, many of them too use "speedball" type markers.

1) Easily avoidable... just buy one that is dust in a dark color.
2) To a certain extent, but once again easily avoidable. The expensive aspect counts simply because woods ball players typically have a smaller budget than tournament players.
3) What? Haha, c'mon now... seriously?
4) That's even worse, where are you getting your info?
5) So... it only rains in the woods?
Pretty much all electronic guns come with water-resistant boards, they can generally handle a decent amount of rain.
