well, I just got an ion (no calling me gay damnit!) and it came with a Pure Energy 48/3000 Nitrogen System. First off, please tell me if that's a good tank and how many shots I can get from a stock gun. Second, please tell me if there's a certain kind of compressed air that it can only use (if another kind exists ) and if I use compressed air with it, once it's empty can I switch to nitrogen?

you're not going to get many shots off a 48/3000 tank. that's also a metal tank and is goigng be be VERY heavy compared to a fiber wrapped tank. I'd suggest buying a 45/4500 tank or a 68/3000(or 4500 tank) if you want to get a lot of shots and have a lighter tank

compressed air is the same stuf fyou fill your bike/ca tires, pool toys etc. It's just at 3000 or 4500 psi(which is incredibly high pressure)
nitrogen is the same as compressed air, it's just pressurized nitrogen gas. you don't need to worry about mixing them because air contains a good percentage of nitrogen anyhow.
